>>736317926I don't think this is true, western games just go for photorealism but the graphics often land in uncanny valley territory as opposed to very high aesthetic games that don't try to look realistic. Its also sometimes conceptually specific that the character isn't some super hot 20 year old. People complained about Returnal's protag not being hot enough which I thought was nuts when you play the whole game in an armored suit and the character was supposed to be some hapless grunt from a mining ship or something. That's like complaining about Issac Clark needing bigger pecs in Deadspace. What the hell does it have to do with anything? The game isn't about that.

By the time you are in a position to have extra heroes, the game is probably already over and I rarely need the scouting. The most I've used Heroes is with the new chaos cult system to teleport my faction leader around. By midgame (turn 40) all the enemy heroes are level 30 from the per-turn experience and you aren't wiping them out with anything but heroes from your main army.
