We live in times when people unironically want a ff13 remake
>>
>>730743716
In fairness, a remake would give the opportunity to fix everything that was broken, like the linearity, the mechanics, the characters, the story, the locations, the dialogue, the music.....
>>
>>730743716
Square can keep their remakes. Got them all on xbox and they look great.

It comes down to etymology, Nathan because a boy is Gift, and Katherine because if you get a daughter you hope she don't become a whore

Why do they keep putting out all these doom articles on TES6? Its like Bethesda knows its going to fail to deliver big time. Almost like they are trying to find a way to save face here since they know they aren't going to come close to delivering on expectations for this game.
>>
>>730738692
this happens all the time. It took forever for a sequel to StarCraft to come out, didn't live up to their old fans expectations.
Diablo 3 took forever, didn't live up to old fans expectations.
You can probably think of a million other examples. This is something the game industry doesn't do well with. They wait wait too long more often than not.
>>
>>730738692
>make game
>fans like thing X
>next game wont have thing X, we dont care about our fans, we are going for a new audience
>here is an NPC we put in the game as an easter egg to make fun of our old fans who wanted thing X
>w-w-wheres our customer goodwill?
this has been in the making for like 20 years and the ironic part is im over it, i dont care anymore and have already accepted im not bethesdas target market. Now its like everyone sees bethesda how i saw them 15 years ago but i just want skyrim 2 so i can attempt to make my mod overhaul for it.

It just makes the game feel cheap and lowers then tension. I want to be immersed, and outlandish skins ruin the atmosphere of any game they are added to.

Why is everyone assuming the pvp will feel like the back stab simulators of DS 1 and not actually be a game that's properly built off it?
>>
>>730743504
Not cope, I have nothing against Duskbloods. Nightreign was From experimenting with mechanics and I enjoyed that, I'm sure I will enjoy Duskbloods too. I'm simply saying it's a test-run for how they want to take PvP in their future big titles. Miyazaki has been talking about his interest in Tarkov pvp for a long time but it would take a lot of tweaking the formula to make it work in one of his rpg titles.

Don't care.
If your game runs like shit, you don't get my money, period.
>>
>>730743203
What a disingenuous argument. Even a decade ago you couldn't run games on the highest settings on any modern or custom triple A engine with a budget set up. 1000$ is extremely low now due to inflation and is considered a mid range card, which should get you mid range specs. Arguing that it's the engines fault when specs are clearly listed on the page for low and max settings on most steam pages is retarded. You're also dragging the goalpost because there was no specs listed before, just complaints that the engine didn't run.
>>730743221
I won't defend squad because I only played it years back on a mid-range and it ran like shit then. I can imagine the jump gimped the playerbase, but that doesn't mean every game is at fault. I personally don't think live service games should shift engines period.

I'm pretty sure it's 3v3 with some enemy NPCs inside the base. The trailer always showcases a group of three and the main art is three heros standing next to eachother.
I think the ice giant in the trailer is one of the NPCs because we see him taking on a group of heros by himself, also he's a lot bigger than the other characters who all have the same size and proportions.

Idols (be it anime or 3D) have always being aimed at males. The girls are the product, not the music.
Magical Girls are still aimed at girls in Japan, its just the only ones we hear from in the west are those that appeal to male audiences like Madoka.

people see a game with less than 10 reviews and assume it failed because it's bad
oftentimes, they are incorrect
the game failed because the developer severely overestimated the organic exposure their game would receive purely from existing on steam
valve has kept the requirement of external initial promotion as a subtle secret for indies, letting people shadow drop games in hopes that enough people will play it for it to blow up, but this never happens
you must generate at least $10,000 of gross revenue within a 14 day period, at any point during your games existence on steam, for valve to consider it a "real" game and begin promoting it
we see many games flop because the developer assumed they would enjoy fair discoverability, drop their game, receive low reviews, and then cement their game as a failure due to potential buyers assuming it's bad because of its low review count
very brutal cycle
the meta promo strat is to spam promotional content on youtube shorts, farm enough wishlists to estimate that 10k in 14 day revenue period, and then hope your game is actually good enough to continue gaining momentum on steam once it experiences real algorithmic promotion

>you must generate at least $10,000 of gross revenue within a 14 day period, at any point during your games existence on steam, for valve to consider it a "real" game and begin promoting it
This is a requirement because they don't want to promote some asset flip AIslop by accident. They only want to promote quality games and the revenue requirement makes it more likely. I'm not saying that your game is bad, but you should have known what you're getting yourself into when you chose an art career (yes, games are art). This is one field where there is no guaranteed way to get exposure or recognition or income without connections even when you have good worksmanship (pic related).
>>

>you must generate at least $10,000 of gross revenue within a 14 day period, at any point during your games existence on steam, for valve to consider it a "real" game and begin promoting it
Do they even explain this anywhere? I have a game released on Steam and this is the first time I've heard of this. How are we supposed to know what the rules are when they don't post these rules anywhere?
>>
Do you prepare development documents before actually starting any work on your games? How much do you have pre-planned before you start working, and how much do you just make up as you go?

True, but the issue here is that people don't want to buy their budget offerings at full price. Even something with Mario's name attached to it AND a good reputation like Mario + Rabbids that sold 10 million copies in its first game couldn't even get Sparks of Hope to sell more than a million copies until it heavily dropped in price and now it's 3 million.

The budget games are things they have to equally gamble on as the more expensive stuff, but the people are coming to them for the expensive stuff. Simple examples: Steep and Riders Republic. I would classify those as around AA budget games and Steep supposedly only did 1 million while Riders Republic refused to even state sales, only "10 million players".
>>
>the issue here is that people don't want to buy their budget offerings at full price
that's kind of the whole point of not spending hundreds of millions of dollars on one project, you have more wiggle room in virtually everything regarding net profit.
