Curiously, not a single one of the other knights (just Godrick knights plopped in the area) that still linger around are sane. They're the reskinned Hollows that you can find wandering around the woods and shit. Which is about the only basic enemy FromSoft could have and ever has come up with, 'totally not a zombie'. FromSoft are so lazy they just reuse Irina's model for a totally different NPC later and just expect you to make an interesting theory out of it instead of recognize that Elden Ring is so fucking phoned in and carried by vibes it could make a grown man with his wits about him cry.

Ready-made game engines, they're big and complex on their own and tuning them properly requires a lot more know-how than building your own one. Bigger engines are also a requirement for more complex interaction systems. On top of that bigger dev teams means the worst programmer of the bunch is the performance bottleneck.
