when a boxer spars and gets his ass kicked he keeps trying even though getting beat up by another guy, reason being that it sucks even more to not try and get better, whenever the game kicks my ass, I want to prove myself that I can kick it's ass back and defeat it, it's not the usual type of fun, but it's something that keeps me coming back to this game, I want to get better at winning until maybe one day I will be able to do A10 runs while chilling as if it's no big deal.

Few things are as satisfying as feeling like a galaxy brain genius when I notice I am halfway through act 3 and I am kicking every elite's ass and then I get to the new doormaker and manage to style on him too.

The game was really full of bugs, you can abuse some of them to keep Ginyu in your team (have him switch bodies when you fight him, then swap the team order and when he switches back it'll be who you swapped the team order to). Then you can use him to body change with Freeza or even with SSJ Vegita.
Also Gohan has a hidden SSJ level that was not implemented in the game. I'm not sure how you get him, either by cheats only, or by going up to level 48 before you get the Saichoro powerup which normally just boosts your levels by three or something. It's a bugged level so you get more powerful but he has -1 defense and will die to a single attack (if it hits).

A lot of the time, critics can make good, objective points. The Mario Galaxy Movie is a huge step down from the first one, that's objectively true. It's scatterbrained, doesn't feature much character development and Yoshi is just there for brand recognition.
But, critics can fail to recognize what makes something good. Sometimes being familiar with a medium or concept before seeing it adapted into a new form is an essential part of the process, and there's a very fine line between being true to the source material, or recharacterizing it to fit the new context, and just slapping it in to check boxes. And if you're not personally invested, the former can feel a lot like the latter. The first movie was better at staying on the authenticity side of that line as opposed to the cynical pandering side, but the new movie wasn't that much worse at it.
There are a small number of arbitrary choices like including Yoshi, Fox McCloud and Pikmin, all just to say they did, that really detract from the cohesiveness of the plot. But those are far from the biggest problems with the movie.
