Bayle is a shit fight.Its cool cinematically but fucking blows chunks to play.
I still haven't gone into the shadow keep, but so far I'm really liking the DLC dungeons. Belurat, Castle Ensis, all of the gaols, the forges... the catacombs however look like someone's leftover demo maps because the assets weren't designed to be scaled up like this. Also kinda bummed about the side dungeon bosses being a bit repetitive: Mausoleum NPCs and then all these man-sized man-shaped gaol/catacomb bosses. Even with the gimmicks they come off a bit lazy, give me a boss based on those pot innard abominations or something. The open world pathing is pretty cool but could use more enemies and more dungeon-esque geometry like the Uld ruins path in Liurnia. It's not enough that I need to discover the way down to cerulean coast for example, the game's not making me fight for it at all. The ruined towns could be bigger too, like proper "open world dungeons". They're still too compact, it's like one jump with torrent and you've found everything.

I think the bosses being super fast and always attacking is just a lie now desu. I've been doing my second run of the DLC on a character that is only doing dragon communion incantations now that there is a true dragon form in the game and its... been really easy. It absolutely helps that I know the movesets of all the bosses already but basically every dragon communion spell is SUPER slow. I've beaten Dancing Lion, Rellana, Hippo, Messmer, and Bayle already and didn't take more than ten tries on any of them.People have probably forgotten that you can just straight up sprint away from the boss.

For the majority of the fights now, I've just become a magic stealth archer. I fuck off to the other side of the arena, slap down a Terra Magicka, and spam Loretta's Mastery while everyone tanks the boss.The spaztic and hyper aggressive movements forced me to adapt to this playstyle because it lets me do consistent damage while the arrows also have very good tracking.
