I was surprised at all the apparent complaints about the difficulty, I’ve never played a souls game and am borderline retarded and the only boss I couldn’t beat in under 50 tries was Radahn. Maybe smart people are used to getting things right in the first few tries?
Looking back, DS2 and DS3 had the best balance of shields vs rolling. Rolling was obviously powerful but they had learned to add attacks that were very hard to roll and should be blocked, but at the same time shields weren't good enough at blocking to be a "dude turn your brain off" button. You should always have a shield out to block the cheeky cunt stray hits enemies would constantly throw at you, so you'd be clear to dodge whatever came next. My sincere wish for this series is that for the next game, they reduce the co-op to 2 players only.These games are really, really bad when you have 3 players going up against the PvE. Everything just fucking dies without putting up a challenge. Being able to switchtargets mid combo and mid animation doesn't help any of the non-hardcore bosses at all. As soon as 3 players exist in the game, the enemies just fucking melt away effortlessly.I'd love to just spend all weekend doing co-op with randos, but everyone insists on summoning two players. I can be the host myself and only summon one person but then I am forced to play one character at a time constantly. It seriously tanks the replay value for me by days, if not weeks.
