Sonic 3&K and Mania are 12 zones and they can feel like a bit much already, though their levels are longer than the average SA2 one. Hell I feel fatigue just trying to play SRB2 in one sitting. But there's no way you can make Eggman a speed character, so subtracting his levels, we have 23 levels which is the equivalent of about 11 zones. You'd have to give the new speed stages some unique gimmicks, non-linearity, and maybe even some new graphics to make it work, but this approach could massively improve SA2 while preventing it from becoming repetitive. The level environments are low-poly so maybe it wouldn't be too hard to make this into a mod? It's just 12 new levels you'd have to make.Damn I really wanna make mods for SA1 and SA2 improving them like that. Maybe I could bridge the divide between the classicfags and adventurefags, that would be nice.
