GOOD MOOOOOOOORNING /aids/! Just wanted to remind you that we’re another day closer to 70b (yes, THE 70b model from Anlatan) getting implemented to Novel AI! Make sure to save your tears for the upcoming update when the kitsune lolibaba walks into the spotlight!>b-but Open AI has a good history with the investors! You can't have an uncensored model! “No!”Sorry Claude fags, but the subscription rep is taken by yours truly! Why would Anlatan choose a censored model over the marketing potential of the greatest coom of the 21st century? The training has also been confirmed to be “surprising” according to the developers, so I’m afraid your years of crying for Claude are going to be subverted once again with the reveal of our favorite underdog! But feel free to continue your denial. Your tears of disappointment will be all the more sweeter!
>>488804420You're welcome. It's a word to tuck away in the back pocket for specific situations like this, for sure.Oh, most certainly, and probably rebuilt from the ground up at least once. But I've heard reliability isn't the highest (nor, for that matter, is safety, given the shape and where you sit).Very understandable. That, and the image of driving it through the Redwoods is quite nice.
Man, mommy stuff is such a powerful fetish for me. I can be death-gripped to shit and it still makes me rock hard. Freud would have a field day with me.
Seems like artist tags don't work at all for the director tools. Really sucks, because there are a lot of subtleties, both in coloring style and in the techniques used to express different emotions, that are difficult to describe with words and downright impossible to describe with danbooru tags.

>>488826828>She takes a deep breathThe 'takes' should be 'took' instead. You've already established the story being in past-tense, so you have to keep the tense straight.>He is probably an ordinary person. It's not like he has anything to do with the Diviners. To him, I'm just some girl. He doesn't know that I'm a pathetic leader who couldn't get her group to do anything together. A dull ache shoots through my head. No good. I'm gonna make myself cry again if I keep this up.This passage is strange and out of place. Why did it turn into first-person all of a sudden for no reason?>'He is probably an ordinary person. It's not like he has anything to do with the Diviners. To him, I'm just some girl. He doesn't know that I'm a pathetic leader who couldn't get her group to do anything together.' Horus thought before a dull ache shot through her head. 'Not good. I'm gonna make myself cry again if I keep this up.'Would be better.>Narrator: Our lovely lead, Horus, went to the beach to try and relax, but instead she finds herself in trouble. What would you do if you saw a cute brown girl struggling in the water? Any man would surely rescue her, but if you had a weakened Horus in your arms and knew she too ignorant to resist, what would you do? What would you do with a virgin girl in a black bikini? Take advantage of her, or give her the affection she desires? You made this with a instruct model? Erase this entire passage. Ok, reading more shows me you switched completely from past-tense to present-tense. The prompt is a mess due to this, and then you have the memory that doesn't explain at all who 'I' am. This prompt needs to go back into the oven. Fix the tense issues, and add information about the protagonist and the current situation.

Though the line about the dull ache would be past tense third person and outside of those marks.Starting from ''Maybe this' and going until the Narrator chimes in, you have present tense where past tense should be. (Or vice-versa if you intended all present tense.)A space should go in 'Meanwhile***' to match the one before it.You have different styles of ellipsis above and below the perspective switch. You should pick one of them to stick to here.An apostrophe should go before the S in 'Lets get'.Pick one of the commas in 'innocence, yet, she' to keep, depending on how you want it to feel. You could also decide to use no commas there, and that might even be the best option. In your Memory, the spaces before the semicolons can be removed. In your Author's Note, 'senses' might be better as 'sensory'.In Horus' Lorebook, a 'has' should go in 'girl long'.A serial comma would go in 'arms and'.I'd hyphenate 'cinnamon skinned'.>>488829762Cheers for chiming in. Brumaire was kinda right though.
>>488831840Honestly I have the opposite view. I think the early days of NAI were probably the strongest. I had to salvage every meeting from his interminable idiotic divergences from the meeting topic. The dev project is disorganised. Until I stepped in and forced these retards to use a trello, there was NO ORGANISATION WHATSOEVER OF ANY PLANS OR IDEAS.The lack of rules and improper moderation was a result of Kurumuz.Kurumuz has 'severe ADHD' which resulted in him cutting off midsentence multiple times. >>488839075I have a prompt that works semi-well but I think just needs more beaks, so I think that'll be the one I try.The gist of it is basically it's a superhero setting and the MC has a somewhat situational/impractical power: every time she meets someone's eyes, she sees their innermost thoughts. She can't control it so she wears really dark, mirrored glasses that make it difficult to see.Writing her getting into shenanigans is fun because she's got a bit of an inferiority complex and is deadset on being a "real" superhero. But sometimes the AI has a hard time triggering her power and I have to do it manually.

>>488833674Oh, absolutely. It's one of the reasons why I started, to make sure there was interaction with what people make. I'm quite happy whenever someone clearly reads a prompt to have something to say about it.As far as tenses go, it's probably partly because my own writing, in the moment, tries to straddle the line between past and present (and doesn't always work out), and partly because some things are easier to read over and mentally fix without being aware of. Good thing to know you see them so clearly.
>>488849935If I see some smoke signals about gay sex in the apocalypse I'll puff up a few about some homo elf to help you out. Just as a friend, mind you.
>>488841484>https://aetherroom.club/6560This has tense issues too. Everything before 'Yuni reached out and tapped' was in present-tense, but then it switches to past-tense until '(My point of view)', where it goes back to present tense. It's a very sudden and awkward tense switch. >>488853472>my own writing, in the moment, tries to straddle the line between past and present (and doesn't always work out)I can see how that might confuse the ai. In cases like that, you'll have to do the bulk of the heavy lifting yourself to hammer some smidgen of the idea into the ai's head (and with edits, of course, whenever the ai goes off the rails).>Good thing to know you see them so clearlyThanks (for the indirect compliment), I'm always willing to lend a helping hand.

>>488985518>Yeah, Russian was already tough, so I figured that Greek was going to be a no-go and left that out.I remember thinking about this subject for one of my Arabic Sultan stories, and what I ended up doing was putting the non-english term of endearment (Habibi) and its meaning in english into the AN. The ai used the information pretty well without prompting (all the wives & concubines called me it). Its functionality might differ, however, if it's integrated into a permanent Lorebook. I know the Ty-Zoom prompt tried the Lorebook method with zoomer slang, and it worked with some tinkering of my own by explaining what some of the terms meant.

She was the only dog hybrid and she was too expensive to *not* use so that was the porn logic justification for why she was able to continue doing what she did. After re-watching Special Bulletin and a few other things about Nuclear Terrorism I somehow got the idea "hey wait a minute, what if the terrorist win in the setting, and that's the excuse for dog soldiers?", and that's where the current Traci lorechain started. It's not really that complicated, but it definitely snowballed into something pretty elaborate for a masturbation fantasy. So yes, Traci is somewhat inspired by the glowie dog memes that popped up around that time, at least her first incarnation was.

You guys wanna discuss game design with LLMS? Let me pitch in some of my thoughts. To start off, I think text adventures, if you want to truly make it a game, should involve a concrete goal coupled with open-ended challenges and a narrative to ground the details of it all. That's basically all you need.
>>489092927this, you're a wizard in the kingdom of larion and you're on a quest to find the book of essence
>>489092927AI Roguelite kind of does this. The quest system generates a quest, then gives you options on how to complete them. It isn't foolproof, but it works pretty well from my experience.
>>489089672Pilotfish II, been using it for months. I should try new ones, but it works for me.
>>4890896720.1 Min-P and 0.6 temp
>>489092927(1 / 2) I feel like game design with LLMs is situated on a sliding scale between toy and static. On the toy end, you've got the goofy AID, NAI type stuff. No constraints whatsoever, no systems, whatever happens just happens. The downside is there isn't much room to do cool things like health meters, RPG mechanics, etc., since you've got no way of knowing what the LLM is going to do at any given moment, and you can't expect that it's going to work without breaking suddenly. On the static end, your backend is almost entirely standard game stuff with the LLM having very little say apart from, like, dialogue options. The downside is at this point, why use an LLM in the first place?I think my ideal game would be a mix of the two. For text adventure for instance, have the LLM come up with JSONs for rooms, weapons, NPCs, etc., then add checks to make sure the JSON is in the expected format and nothing stupid happens (like generating a 1000 DMG sword in the starting area, for instance). This can be run either offline (if generating everything beforehand) or online (if generating as the player explores). If offline and you decide not to use the LLM for input and output (below) you could effectively have your own text adventure generator, which isn't ideal for me but could have some novelty. Now the fun part is if you want the LLM to have a role when actually playing. The backend where game state is updated would be a normal text adventure backend, with different recognized actions (attack [npc], pick up [item], say [npc] [message]). The LLM doesn't have a say in any of the calculations of how much damage is dealt, etc. Instead the LLM has two roles. The first is translation. Given an English command from the player, the LLM translates it into the appropriate action. "Chop goblin's head off" gets translated into "attack goblin", for instance. The command is then passed into the backend, and the output is obtained ("Goblin takes 5 damage").
>>489101159(2 / 2) The second part is rephrasing. Once you have the output, the LLM then takes that output, and any preceding output / actions relevant to what's happening, and rephrases it. With this you could turn "Goblin takes 5 damage" into something more narrative / cinematic. Certain commands might be different ("say [npc] [message]" might call out to the LLM for a response, for instance, since that's not really something the standard backend should handle due to dialogue kinda being the LLM's thing). There could be yet another piece if you want something more interesting. The LLM could also have certain "world commands" it could use, allowing the LLM to react to certain commands and have NPCs or the environment respond appropriately. Basically giving the LLM some limited DM powers to really change things up.
>>489101159>>489101846>>489101159I feel like everyone I talk to about this is obsessed with trying to cram traditional RPG combat mechanics into an LLM games. Why bother with the LLM at that point if you're only going to have a few pre-defined actions you can take. People doing that usually completely forget that turn-based combat is only fun when actual strategy elements are involved. It'd be incredibly difficult to pull off a well-balanced system that's ripe for strategy with the chaotic and open-ended generations of an LLM. Instead, why not do away with the old paradigm and bring fresh ideas into it? Jazz vs Waffles is on the right track with making custom moves that have varying levels of damage depending on the narrative effects of the action.
Really loving these network errors turk
>>489102695Japan ramming the servers before they can no longer afford slop.
>>489102673Because LLMs are usually trash at judging how much damage something should do or what the effects should be. That became pretty clear with Jazz vs. Waffles after playing with it for a while.
Last two digits are the days until 70B
>>489102673The point is that the human isn't invoking those commands directly, the LLM is taking the command and deciding which to apply. This lets it do what it's best at (reasoning about natural language) while letting the backend handle what it's utterly shit at (math and quantitative reasoning). If you want more in depth combat, you can add more battle commands as needed. Maybe attack [npc] instead becomes attack [npc] [body part], maybe you add commands such as defend, steal, grapple, etc.Done properly, the player should have no idea what's going on in the backend, and it should feel open ended while also conveying some sense of realism and strategy, which just isn't something you can do with pure LLM.
>>489105225I can wait for 11 days.

>>489092927I have a game idea. It's basically a kingdom management simulator with stats. The kingdom has four basic stats: military, external affairs, economic, and magic. They range from 1 to 6 and will be used for rolls involving a 2d6. You can use a kingdom's stats in one of two ways: either to bolster another kingdom stat for a particular action or to directly overcome something. So for example, if an important town in the kingdom has a monster infestation problem you'd likely want to use the military stat to overcome it. However, before you do that, you can do stuff like roll with the economy stat to outfit the soldiers with special weapons specific to that monster type and if successful, it will grant a bonus to the military roll when you attempt to overcome the problem with it.There's a lot more to it obviously, but that's the core gameplay loop; strategically making use of your different kingdom's sectors to solve problems and exploit opportunitiesAlso, there'd be a narrative and all that to go along with it, as well as roleplay with various advisor characters.Do you guys think it'd be fun?

>>489102673I barely care about traditional rpgs so combining LLMs with their mechanics is not a draw to me, and it feels like kind of a waste in a way I can't articulate well. like dedicating LLMs to reinventing the wheel 5 million other guys reinvented but this time it makes your computer toasty warm, hooray, be excited about itIMO what would make LLM games anything more than a toy to play with for a little before losing interest is the ability to be consistent. in terms of narrative-based games, people play games, even ones with really dogshit mechanics, because they love the story, and they get upset when the game breaks its own lore or fucks up its story. LLMs can barely go five minutes without reinterpreting some shit in their context in a way that changes the meaning or coming up with new shit that contradicts previous stuff

I'm gonna be honest, I don't think 'physical' adventures where you have to slay a dragon or kill a bunch of goblins works very well with AI unless there's deep strategy involved. I'm having a lot more fun with more 'cerebral' roles where I get to solve complex problems in a narrative, like a king or a military advisor.
>>489146301can you please elaborate
>>489146301I think the alternative for a more physical adventure is to focus on exploration and character dynamics. You can definitely have some interesting action scenes if you don't just choose to steamroll every time, but they do get tired after a while. That's true for any story. You might be right that it's more challenging, though.
Which settings do you usually manipulate to get more varied outputs while remaining consistent?
>>489146798>>4891474521/2Basically people are so familiar with archetypes meant for combat in video games (yes, even wizards) that it's the first thing they go for when creating a scenario. "I want to be a knight", "I want to be a fireslinging sorcerer", etc etc. Problem is, physical challenges, like combat or traversing a mountain in a winter aren't particularly interesting challenges to solve through text, especially with AI, since your first instinct is to brute force it by just going, > 'I slash at the goblin'. That's not to say combat can't be strategic, but most of the time it's hard to make it strategic; when you do, you're often grasping at straws. That's why D&D, which has a lot of combat, also has a decent amount of crunch, so that there's actual strategy to it rather than brute force. So the solution to this is to instead focus on having the AI give you open-ended problems that can be resolved with wit rather than brawn. Even really mundane challenges such as "This town is having a drought" get really interesting with the amount of angles you can take if you put your mind to it. This is enough to make it feel like an actual game rather than just a narrative you're reading and interacting with.I'll give an example of what I mean by 'combat archetypes are boring', with a roleplay I'm doing right now.Let's say you catch a merchant trying to rip off a farmer in the middle of a drought. If you're a warrior archetype or even a wizard, since merchant man bad your first instinct is to be bad in return and threaten the merchant to give the farmer a better deal. This is okay for a D&D adventure where you have a bunch of friends to laugh and play with, but for a solo text adventure it's really boring since that's where it ends, and either the AI throws a twist in that makes it deeper than it seems, or you just help the merchant and go on to more fight-y jobs.
>>489148294(2/2) But actually, in this scenario I was playing as an ancient Chinese strategist/advisor, so what I instead did is give the farmer a basic lesson on supply and demand and then came up with the idea to establish a trade route from a more fertile area.. blah blah blah... eventually I DID threaten the merchant with reporting him, but only to keep him on a leash and to have him help me resolve the problem. I came up with a bunch more ideas and bounced them off the NPCs, and then eventually came to a plan to efficiently organize the trade route. The only reason why I managed to get myself into this position of control was because my role was actually suited to helping people with problems of this nature, rather than those that are extremely secondary to more 'civil' problems. You can still get that kind of gameplay with a warrior character, but then... you're not really roleplaying a warrior properly at that point, in other words your role is wasted on the roleplay. So tl;dr try roles with a lot of decision-making that naturally gravitate open-ended problems to you. They're a lot funner to solve than having to slay a troll.
>>489148294>>489149103Some roles that I think are suited to this kind of roleplay:-Leaders of any kind (rulers, nobles, CEOs, shop owner, etc)-Strategist-Advisor-Diplomat-Spy-Detective-Scientist? (Maybe)-Judge-Lawyer-Social worker-Therapist?
>>489148294The issue is there's nothing stopping the AI from admitting an utterly braindead solution like "I command a raincloud to come over" in the same way you can just chop down an army if you will it. And for me, the thing that makes a puzzle fun is that you need to do something that actually makes sense to successfully solve the puzzle.I think you're onto something, but it'll need some way to pare it down in reality. An option would be to have the LLM act as a judge for every command you do, but that's hairy and inconsistent (see >>489104283).I don't actually know what the best solution to that would be.
>>489149756>>489148294>>489149103If you MUST do combat, maybe try a professional monster hunter, like those in The Witcher or the Goblin Slayer, rather than just stereotypical "adventurer warrior/mercenary"
>>489148294>>489149103I definitely agree with that you're saying. I gravitate to more of an action adventure story, so I've thought a lot about how to avoid making it tedious. I usually have at least one companion (usually a romance subplot), and they are usually hinder or complicate things more often than they help. I also try to have a focus on piecing together some mystery or working to resolve a problem that can't be solved immediately or though violence. I use a system prompt that encourages the AI to come up with obstacles, complications, and hindrances whenever possible. I try to keep the fights relatively sparse and consequential, but now and then I like a gratuitous fight scene. I guess I try to do a lot of the problem-solving stuff you talk about, but with less of a social focus. But I have to admit that it requires more work and thought than I would like. It can be more like telling a story than playing a game sometimes, which sucks when I just want to relax and not think too hard.
>>489148231Anybody?
>>489148231Using what model?Generally temperature is the main one, but the sweet spot varies from model to model. Too little and it gives the same general responses, too much and it goes fucking schizo.
>>489150108Should get better as AI evolves. Idk what LLM you're playing with, but you can just probably instruct the AI to be harsh with you if you want. If you're using NovelAI, then you're gonna have to police yourself. I've personally never had the issue you're describing, but I hear a lot of people don't do solo roleplay cause they have trouble with not trying to cheat.>>489150590If you like mystery, try being a private detective (so you can still be an adventurer) If you want magic, give them a supernatural ability that helps them with their role (like the ability to read minds)
>>489150815I'm lazy, I just end up switching the tags around or just changing a preset
>>489150815I'm not sure I understand the question exactly. I'd argue that variety and consistency are opposites. The simplest thing is to balance temperature to your liking, but you can also mess with samplers like top p to allow you to increase temperature higher while limiting the tokens it can choose from so you are less likely to get nonsense.
>>489150815I bump up dynamic temperature
>>489149103My ideal game is basically AI Risk. A game where you have different nations and you're in control of your own. You can visit and interact with other nations, establish alliances with other nations, go to war, fight in said wars, undergo betrayal or betray others yourself. You can also recruit and command officers and soldiers, strategize, and determine what you should do. At the end of the day, the goal is to conquer or ally with every other nation and establish yourself as the dominating world power. The cherry on top would be if you could not only focus on the high level war stuff, but more personal relationships and alliances as well, which could make for some great and unique storytelling and drama.
My ideal AI game is AA2 but with AI.
>>489151052>Should get better as AI evolves.Ironically, what I've described is the same alignment problem that corpos are trying to solve to ban boobs. Only rather than scolding people for generating NSFW, you're only admitting something if it makes sense in the context of the game.I'm not sure if said problem actually has a possible solution.
