Done with ITR2 until they add some more to it, I didn't finish the mission. Lightning Anomalies and Enemies in general are unreasonably dense without any kind of body armor.
The ultimate control scheme

The electrical anomaly places are hard; the green house and the later forest electrical concrete tower are both extremely hard areas. In my like 40 hours of playing I ONLY go in them if I'm doing the story quest. Elsewise it's pointless. Way too hard for what it is. My tips for them are to take your time and observe them. First clear the area of mimics and spawns and look at the area. They come in and out of vision so you should mentally map the areas that are safe and those are not. The moving ones are the hardest, map their paths. Don't just rush in. For ones that block the way, you can use a probe to set it off and then there's a 5-10 second cooldown (I have yet to count) where you can run past them (and hopefully not into another one!). You can use this to also detect their radiuses; as the damage zone increases during their activation phase. IE; they zap a larger area over time. Note safe areas between zappers, and use probes to run past them into the next safe area. MOVING ones make this harder, note their paths and don't get blindsided. Another point is that bouncers spawn in these fields and their positioning is semi-random between tides.If you get a REALLY bad bouncer, just wait for the next tide.Mimic fighting I'll cover next post.
Mimics are very hard in ITR2. The biggest thing you'll want to be using is cover. The second thing you will want to use is range. The third is damage. good cover at a good range with good damage and you'll slaughter them no problem. They get hard when you can't use these three things. Early game for example with no long range or high damage weapons; you need cover. Shotguns do high damage so you can get away with less cover and range. If mimics charge, run away to other cover to keep distance. this is general stuff and mimics have different fighting styles and difficulties based on their type. The most dangerous are the armored types, the machinegunners, and the sniper types. Snipers and armored ones are harder to see since the armor covers parts, and machinegunners just shred the fuck out of you.Shotgun mimics are actually kinda easy since they don't do much damage and they charge you so you can kill them easily.Plan every engagement in advance to maximise cover, range and damage as much as you can with what you have and they'll fall like wheat to a scythe.

There's a mechanic where they will shoot at the last known location so in combat if you can move between cover, do so, but night fights favor mimics over explorers so hard. I usually recommend using nighttime to run around the map and explore no mimic areas like artifact fields. Bumpers are a bit harder to see but if you've got a chest flashlight and some probes you can just take it a bit easy and even pitch-black artifact hunting isn't much harder than daylight.

Otherwise you should wait for a reload to attack from a flank so they don't instantly snap to you mid burst. They also don't fire while moving and will try to reposition when they are suppressed or flanked, giving you more opportunities to hurt them the more you move and use cover. If you stay in one spot having a plinking match with a crowd of them, you will eventually get hit. Not only that but you will also find they will move into better cover and flank you.Honestly this game is a patient one. You're supposed to observe and plan before heading in. Everything moves and acts very predictably so it's easy to figure out how to tackle a problem once you get a good view of the area. You just have to actually put in the thought first.
