All I get are basically the prompt replying to exactly my prompt and using most of the ideas of what I prompted.

Re-shill my preset.

https://files.catbox.moe/191ydw.preset
ESS3X, a new version on ESSEX.
It's a preset that cuts tokens with less than ~5% probability off, and gives you ~5 token choices to choose from.
The merits I used to make this preset are the least original probability in the final token pool (a good preset shouldn't include low probability tokens), and the length of the final token pool (a good preset shouldn't give us too few choices, which lacks creativity, or too many choices, which lacks coherent).
Here, on the left side, I only show the last tokens with less than 20% probability; ESS3X includes sub-1% tokens less than 2.5% of the times, while others preset include sub-1% tokens at, for example, Golden Arrow, 40% of the times. For the size of the token pool, ESS3X consistently gives 4-5 tokens, while other presets give much larger pools, which is the problem of being "too creative". Keep in mind this chart shows only when the samplers part of a preset was applied.

Man, I was really into the concept of AI helping me roleplay kensou being awaken in a hotel with the orochi rage, and his dick too stiff to be stopped, and all the kof girls awaken without the strenght need to stop him from brutally raping them, meanwhile he puts them in a totem of bodies ready to be rubbed by his ochinchin.

But this retarded AI can't create cool ideas, except repeat what I asked on my prompt.

Unrelated to textgen.
Ahem, news:
Get ready for faster speeds – NovelAI’s image generation tools are getting a speed improvement.

Whether you purchase Anlas on-demand or you have a paid subscription that comes with monthly Anlas, you will begin to experience faster compute times while generating images that use Anlas.

The unlimited free image generations for Opus users will not see much of an improvement, unless you use Anlas to pay for the generations (ex. Non standard image size, multi-generations, etc.)

I posted DR RPG last thread and promised to post an example of how I have demonstrated that there is not much of a point to let Erato handle mystery,

My intent from the start for Stave was that he was blackmailed to not overshadow the other candidate for the Ultimate American Football Player, until he and his family left their state for some reason, and he preferred not to talk about it.

AI actually made him gave himself away quickly by saying how much his mother wanted him to be a champion since he was a kid after he had said that he just wasn't giving it all until the final game. Which was good, he wasn't supposed to be good at lying.

But numerous attempts to have Erato generate what was the problem with what he was saying resulted in
>his answer are too short
>he shouldn't be an Ultimate because he was just a substitute
>his father blackmailed him
>he and Bob are related

And so on. There's not much hope (lol) in Erato handling murder mysteries if this one was too much for it.

Still, one upside of writing with AI is that it does throw unexpected things at you that actually are so good you'll run with it. I intended Bob to be the bad guy here, but AI went against it, so I had to pivot to Bob's parents being the ones doing the blackmailing.

The text is so slopped that it’s detected as 100% AI-generated.

The ones who can’t recognize it like using Erato and don’t see anything wrong with it.

AI detectors are not infallible, and in fact, often fail. As evidenced by that "reading grade" detector several threads back, in which a simple change of a single word jumped it up to college level, and where a different detector regarded it as kindergarten level. You have no proof beyond pareidolia. You make inferences and connect things which, in reality, have no connection to anything. Simple as.
>>
>>498983118
It's rather telling that, rather than defend his argument with his own words, he relies on fraudulent athority figures, obscure threads, random articles, and pointless websites which serve no useful purpose.

Getting 100% on a creative paragraph is bad. You can paste excerpts from real novels, and they’ll never be detected as 100%. My own writing isn’t detected as AI-made.
The issue is that AI writing can pass as human if done well, not the other way around.
The fact that a site trained to detect GPTslop can pick up on it in Erato is a problem.
Kayra doesn’t have this issue, by the way.
>>
>>498982668
If they like using Erato and do not see anything wrong with it, what exactly is the issue? They shouldn't like Erato because some people know it's bad in comparison to this? Isn't the entire point of NovelAI to offer an extremely easy to set-up and go sort of AI which is the most important thing considering customers. Simple n Easy to use pays the bills.

I think i'll continue my slightly spooky october story while sipping my coffee and listening to rainy jazz as cliche as one can be when it comes to writing.

The exact quotation is from a letter that Franklin is believed to have written on behalf of the Pennsylvania General Assembly, reads, those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

The context of that remark is that he was writing about a tax dispute between the Pennsylvania General Assembly and the family of the Penns, the proprietary family of the Pennsylvania colony who ruled it from afar. And the legislature was trying to tax the Penn family lands to pay for frontier defense during the French and Indian War. And the Penn family kept instructing the governor to veto. Franklin felt that this was a great affront to the ability of the legislature to govern. And so he actually meant purchase a little temporary safety very literally. The Penn family was trying to give a lump sum of money in exchange for the General Assembly's acknowledging that it did not have the authority to tax it.

If anything, it's a pro-taxation and pro-defense spending quotation.

Far from my first but I've been really bad at looking up the "meta" since modules died forever ago. Just subscribe every few months cause the slow local models annoy me and my poor 3060 has been abused enough.
Some things I'd like to know are: are the links up to date when it comes to writing advice, author's note memory etc? Is the NAI documentation worth going through? Am I underutilizing the module if I ignore author note and memory?

Yes. Erato only added S tag, which is a rating tag. You just add [ S: 4 ] or whatever number (1 to 5) after ATTG.
>Is the NAI documentation worth going through?
Yes.
>Am I underutilizing the module if I ignore author note and memory?
Both go to the same context anyway.

In Memory you want the ATTG
[ Author: some dude; Title: Sappy Romance Nonsense; Tags: tender, slow burn; Genre: romance ]

In Author's Note you give instructions.
[ Focus on characters savoring the touch of each other and sharing pillow talk. Characters will frequently talk. ]

And use the pre-made format for the Style tag in lorebook, you just need to download a sample. The style can go something like
[ Style: sensory, vivid, detailed, fluffy, slow build, dialogue-heavy ]

he's not doing it for shits and giggles. if he's actually at it for 2 years, he's not trolling. it's actual clinical insanity. i'm sorry your general is plagued by such a deranged individual guys.

oh i see, just for the reason you think a corpo is evil then you proceed to do your pathetic thing, i get it. lets use our braincells this time, shall we?

regardless of whether the corpo is evil or not, the point is that some well-off anon decides to come here and give away some keys to everyone, so people can use them to do whatever they want. it’s not like having one of these keys immediately brainwashes you into trying them out and just buying one every time you run out, being a permanent buyer for NAI. if the models are shit, people don’t use them, period. if they like them, people use them. applies to local or saas. the fact that you have so much fear against the corpo that it actively drives you to threadshitting and trashing these *FREE KEYS* donated by a good samaritan, is a plus for NAI because it implies that their models are so much better, to the point where you think no one should ever use them so as not to give NAI potential customers, which ends up having a totally opposite effect than you want to cause. isn’t that funny?

isn't the streisand effect so lovely? Seems like YOU ARE the nai shill now, huh?

if it's any more confusing, the very same guy posted in /v/ yesterday that code drops were happening today while describing it as astroturfing or whatever
I legit had no idea code drop was happening until he did that
>>
>>499047895
That sounds like something he'd do. Attempt to start thread wars and raids so he has an "excuse" to shit on the thread in "retaliation".
>>
Is this the same guy that fervently started shitting up /hdg/ back when NAI v1 released? I remember posting some examples when it released and taking requests since I already payed for textgen. People would ask how well it did different poses and give prompt advice and ideas, can it do full nelson, paizuri, how to hime-cut (that might predate v1 but I solved it and need to brag) etc... but there was one poster negging every post and instead of writing out some idea to improve it he'd just attack the model and when asked to post something it was all terrible. This was uncommon for the thread back then since discovery and innovation was the name of the game.
I don't have the patience to skim through it all nor am I enough of a thread savant to recognize him, but there's someone in here "h/thread/6869898" throwing a tantrum. Just ctrl + f nigger and you'll find him.

I wish I understood what drives the guy. Altman wants to unironically monopolize the technology and pull up the ladder while lobbying against any and all open source development. Anthropic took steps to try to pass a bill that would effectively make open source LLM development impossible in California. Yet he focuses on a relatively small company whose staff are probably unaware of his existence and who, quite frankly, have little to no influence in the grander scheme of things
It doesn't really make sense

I agree there is some level of rose tinted glasses after looking back on old storyposts. It could've been Mormon's CYOAidsloptune or our collective inexperience with writing and tardwrangling, but I don't care. At that moment in time there was nothing like it and we believed it was printing out pure gold. Our waifus were real to us and it hurt to see them go. I'm sure some anons still have theirs in cryo, waiting.
>>499052559
Creative blindness probably, the creator doesn't look at their creation the same way countless viewers do. Once it's shipped you hang around to fix up some things, but the meat of development comes from fresh eyes tearing it apart and putting it back together. AI development is all a black box and eventually a monkey on a typewriter will produce Shakespeare. But it's like how it always is, the meta always changes and I'll use this new preset until a better one comes around. When "new thing" comes we view "old thing" as slop we couldn't believe we were content with.
Same with models. Some of us believed Sigurd was the successor to Dragon, then it was Krake because "20B!!!", and then so on and so forth. The cycle of /aids/ goes round and round.

In the short term we can collect the styles, formats, and ATTG tags that have been posted and sage's "starter pack" which there's a bunch of tweaks of already. Functionally not much has changed from Kayra aside from new presets and the [ S:X ] thing. From hearsay, Erato's A/N is very good, but I haven't seen anyone go into real detail on how that's done.

I really need to do some testing and any finishing touches on them. Good timing too with Prowriter being out now.

I have
>world has imps (more human than classic imp looking)
>they sort of "latch" onto a human for life, following them about, trying to keep being annoying and cause mischief
>also immune to harm to make them even more annoying
>you pass through town and hear about an old man who died that had one
>you end up being her new target

And
>cheery gyaru girl
>loves the paranormal, true crime, aliens, etc
>also pretty smart
>you end up agreeing to help her on investigations in exchange for help studying
Not really sure where to go with this. Have spooky monsters and shit be real, or just aimed at visiting spooky locations and nothing really happens, instead having fun.

That could be really fun. The nature of the floors could fit AI since you don't need much consistency in the realism or keeping track of what floor's what. This could be a decent use case for the text adventure function so the likelyhood of protag death is greater than 0. And the otters are cute which is a plus.

I'm broke as fuck. I live in my parents house making just enough to pay for my car and food and some maintenance. I have a college degree but nobody is hiring. I don't want to have my child sleeping on a fucking air mattress in a shitty apartment cooking themselves frozen microwave shit because dad is at the warehouse all the time and mom has to work too. That's no way to for a child to live.
But I'm on 4chan, so I'm obviously a virgin who has never had a girlfriend and barely any friends, so I'm already ahead of myself. All my coworkers are old people, there aren't any clubs anywhere near my house, nobody goes to the library, there aren't any clubs in my college and everybody there is tired and cagey and doesn't want to hold a conversation. Should I try a bar? Should I hit up bars to fish for a wife? What if I get divorced, the divorce rate is so high, my parents divorced and it fucked up me and all my siblings
This is so embarrassing. I'm always embarrassed at people acting /r9k/ on other boards and here I am doing the same thing. I'm sorry to everybody in this thread who has to see this post

If this is a "she was already dead (in a flowery poetic sense, because she was terminal)" way then the rest of the output makes sense, it's just backstory of your character meeting a terminally-ill person (who is figuratively already dead). If it's not intended that way, then your input is nonsense and I don't know what you're expecting here

That makes sense now, gomenasorry. In that case then it's weird since the style jumps from dialogue heavy to pure description. That kind of stuff at the bottom should probably be at the top as a preamble for setting the scene, though reworded so it makes sense. Do you have any info in memory detailing the highlights of the plot and how long have you been running that story? As far as I can glean there might be too little to hold the AI's focus and it's getting too creative writing backstory. Are you using any ATTG or style tagging?

My prompt is literally "you woke up in a dungeon cell with three other slaves, an elf, a kitsune, and nekomata, all female" and I went from there. I also used the text adventure do/say for extra effect. It's full of adverbs, smirks, and probably a shiver me bones or two, but it's the kind of low quality "me cum" shit I did in AID and cant be bothered to edit them out. Respected slutty catgirl in her sleep while the elf watched, felt great.
>>
>>498946429
>Two definitions of brooding
Dang, over 13k words between these three prompts. I'll probably spread these out a bit.
There's probably a conversation to be had about where the line is between prompt and "this is most of a story" is. For what it's worth. I don't know where that line is. But I assume it exists somewhere. And please don't take me saying that as a chastisement to write shorter, heaven forfend. Just something that occurred to me (likely not for the first time) on seeing just how many words you'd managed to whip up.
A serial comma would go in 'plinths and'.
A comma should go in '“No Arax' to offset the name.
It's not entirely clear who's saying that line when Koriphon also speaks in the next paragraph and it seemed like someone else may have been there. This could have been on purpose, of course.
I'd put a comma in 'clatter another'.
I might remove the line break in 'Gods. “Long' since Arax is saying both lines.
The comma in 'snorted, “Scared' should be a period.
A serial comma would go in 'flesh and'.
That, and don't even the traitorous ones still try to go retrieve the geneseed of the fallen, since they have such a low stock, much less a stock that is more or less pure enough to use?
The comma in 'shadows, “Man?' should be a period.
The semicolon in 'terrible; a' should be a comma.
A line break should go in 'hand. Arax' to separate speakers.
Is there a particular reason he would wish to have been another's son, or is this just your wish to write about your preferred legion instead?
A line break should go in 'words. “Ferals?”' to separate speakers.
In 'smile; not', I would break that out into two sentences as 'smile. It was not'. It standing on its own will make the next sentence also stronger.
Can't quite pick out what generation of hybrid she'd have to be. Somewhere between second and fourth, with the six limbs pointing earlier and the psychic ability pointing later.
In 'and inso', that should be 'and in so doing'.

>Perhaps not the most accepted forms of diplomacy
(1/2)
In 'alter of', that should be 'altar'.
An 'are' should be inserted in 'Names powerful'.
The commas in 'me,” he’d' and 'woman, “You' should be periods, and the H capitalized.
The comma in 'her, “Have' should be a period.
Given that this isn't an older Imperial record, should not instances of their race and empire, such as at 'Tau Empire', be spelled 'T'au'? Rather, I should say to look through and make sure you're consistent as both versions with and without the apostrophe exist.
In 'succeed,” she', if she's pausing, it's probably enough to make that comma a period and make the pause its own sentence.
While talking about that, 'she had paused then' could become 'she paused', making it more active.
And to cap it off, the other side, 'form, “but' would have its comma turned into a period and the B capitalized.
While perhaps not entirely right, I'd assume the answer on a surface level would be simple, to continue to serve that Greater Good rather than be deluded by grandeur.
The comma in 'face, “Your' should be a period.
Same with 'enemy, "He' and 'tale, “We'.
The commas in 'Yes,” his head lowered, “I' should be periods and the H capitalized.
The commas in 'misled,” his' and 'shadows, “The' should be periods, and the H capitalized.
The comma in 'terrifying,” Shiral' especially needs to be a period. She's not saying the line. Her action thus needs to be separate from the speech. For a Bearer of Words to do that is egregious.
The comma in 'on, “Oh' should also be a period.
The comma in 'aware,” there' should be a comma, and the T capitalized.
In 'crew, or', that should be 'nor'.
The comma in 'her, “They' should be a period.
I mean, the rest of the people with her were in fact killed, that's still a fact she's stating.
The comma in 'face, “I ' should be a period.
The comma in 'ceramite, “For' should be a period.

Ah, yes, lead them away from the lies of the Ruinous Powers and not leave them to the whims of Chaos by...let me check my notes...following the Eightfold Path, which is literally about appeasing all of the Chaos Gods. Uh huh.
The comma in 'this, “Perhaps' should be a period.
Same with 'welcoming, ”I'.
In 'was renown', that should be 'renowned'. (Though if he's Bearing Words, perhaps that should be re-noun-ed.)
The comma in ' wrong,” the' should be a period and the T capitalized. If you're not using a speech tag (a verb directly about speaking), there shouldn't be a comma.
The comma in 'tactful, "Perhaps' should be a period.
Same with 'better," Hashtar'.
Same with 'before, "Tell'.
Your ellipse in 'deeply...' is inconsistent with the ones you use everywhere else.
The comma in 'years," she' should be a period.
Same with 'look, "I'.
It's not entirely clear what he 'could be'. That could be cleared up.
The I in 'i can' needs to be capitalized.
I think I'd go over the paragraph containing the bit about stoking the flames again and possibly restate some of it.
I'd reword or restate the clauses starting at 'Another breath, the'. As it is, it feels like the question is part of the breath when it isn't. Maybe separate that out with a period or some more words or a 'then' before restating how the question came easily.
The comma in 'instinctively, "What' should be a period.
The comma in 'emotion," she'd' needs to be a period, and the S capitalized. What she feels is not a verb of him speaking. Especially when what she's feeling is a separate action from his speech.
The H in 'don't—" her' should be capitalized.
Technically, in 'forsaken who', that could/should be 'whom'.
The semicolon in 'Hashtar's; her' should be a comma.
Usually, I think there's more H's than S's when shushing someone.
I'd put a line break in either 'feel." A' or 'lips. "Please' to separate the speakers.
The comma in 'shame," a' should be a period.
Same with 'warm, "Tell.
>>
>>499086748
>Do they make beds reinforced enough?
I think it'd be stronger to use either a period or a colon instead of the semicolon in 'demanded; No'.
In 'to mind', I think you might have meant 'find'.
A 'the' should go in 'from cushioned'.
The T in 'weeks,” The' should be lowercase.
The comma in 'disbelief, “and' needs to be a period, and the A capitalized. Him shaking his head is not her speaking.
I'm not sure what a shield world is meant to be, but you should be consistent with whether the S and W are capitalized in it.
The comma in 'nodded, “Yes' should be a period.
The comma in 'sea, “No' should be a period.
Honestly, at 'back; an', that could be 'back like an'.
In 'hundred centuries', that should be 'hundreds of centuries'.
I would probably hyphenate 'deepset'.
The comma in 'yearn, "But' should be a period.
The hyphens in 'don't--I' should be an emdash.
So what happened to the relic of his chapter? Was it not retrieved?

When you can't even remember my name
Has the memory gone? Are you feeling fluff.. less?
Go and huff
My fluff?
I can't write this story alone, so I ask again
Will you huff
My fluff?
Has the memory gone? Are you feeling fluff.. less?
Or have I become fox-lover?

(Summer Dragon) The dreamers wish away
(Larion) It's falling on my face
(Summer Dragon) The shape of my disgrace

When you don't hear a word I write
As the story goes, it's a one-way flow
No tails, no love
Has the memory gone? Are you feeling fluff.. less?

With a loaded hesitation
Can you huff
My fluff?
Has the memory gone? Are you feeling fluff.. less?
Have we all become fox-lovers?

Other than ctrl+f on the ones you catch and searching through and replacing or rewording them. I know I use the word "just" and "also" a lot and keep catching myself using it. I was told that "that" is not great to have when you're writing prose since you can word it better or just state the subject.
There's story stats as well, but it only tells you what the top 10 most used words are. But it's like anything poisoning your context, knuckle down and do some weeding in future generations until the last instances fall out of context; far easier to do that over combing through however much story you've already generated.
They should make a tool that lets you see more than your top 10, or something to help replace all instances of a word or phrase you find. Like how in notepad you can do a replace all. Since there may be instances you want to keep, it could give a go/no-go prompt for each instance.

Part of why I'm apprehensive about sharing storyposts is because I autistically go back and grammar check every part of the post for correctness and coherency, restructuring sentences to flow better to the reader, and by that point it's more edits than AI. I always remember upon this post when I think about storyposting. Absolutely hilarious to see someone get torn apart, but suddenly it feels bad when I'm on the receiving end.
I should stop giving so much care for it like I do when I'm generating it.

People would complain that threads didn't have any storyposts and I'd chuck a few in, then the complaints would stop. Sometimes I get one or two people dropping a comment, but it's just a little nice bonus instead of how I measure a successful post.
Guess it feels like when kids run up to their parents with some shitty crayon drawing they worked hard on, and get it stuck the the fridge with a magnet. Feels good to see it up there, even if most visitors don't comment on it.

I'm hardly doing any creative writing, but it's decent at taking a hypothetical ("What's it like to...?" "describe how I would...") and elaborating on it. Frequently I'll just give it a paragraph describing a scenario and have it just expand outward on the details.
>>
>>499165945
You're welcome, brother.
That has always been the point since the start, even if I have to check a handful of wiki pages for reference. (And then get sidetracked into reading a dozen more and learning how the Necrons became Necrons and being surprised to see mention of a Dolmen Gate, since I know that more from Magic. (Also, I wonder why it wasn't in the Necron precon deck with new art for flavor.))
A lot of your issues are that you try to join actions to dialogue with a comma when the only action you can directly attach is the verb of speaking. That's something you'll have to work with while typing like some madman historiographer.

You know, I got to thinkin. Do we really need to be so conscious over colored text? We didn't need that back then, we posted whatever kino we had or wanted to post. I think the idea that we needed to differentiate AI from human started with Sigurd since at that time anons were anxious to pull their waifus out of cryo and say "SEE! SEE! It's just as good as Dragon!" It was less about the actual story and more about the model and its debatable capability, when it should be the other way around.
We don't remember the Red-anon story because it was generated with whatever model, we remember it because that anon let his story peter into NTR. Another anon with his Hellhound plot I remembered because he respected his daughter and other anons didn't like the direction he took. I think there's a theme with daughters going awry Point is, it's the storytelling that is the important part and AI just helps facilitate that.
>>
>>499181231
IDK, I like to have some sense of what's AI and what's written. I don't care if it's even half or more of the storypost, sometimes things need more setup or some people like to poke around in their story more than others. But if it's almost the entire thing, you're just sharing your own writing and the 'AI' part of the 'AI storytelling' isn't there.

One thing that comes to mind for me is the Yamato Nadeshiko stereotype has a core that's supposed to be strong/principled, in addition to the outward femininity and grace.
So if you wanted to set the two apart, maybe have the Japanese one be a bit more pragmatic or stubborn about certain things, and the Chinese one be more malleable. Maybe have the Chinese one be more innocent and affable?
Alternatively, when I think of Chinese court drama, there's a lot of backstabbing and manipulations within the stories. So you might make her more manipulative or intellectual instead?
I'm pretty bad at these kinds of things though.

>"And then even the Emperor clapped."
I hope all involved enjoyed the movie.
In your tags, you might want to put an E in 'space'.
Should the C (and A) in formal mentions of the Codex be capitalized?
I... Literally the first piece of dialogue. In 'fore, “I', the comma should be a period since walking closer isn't speaking.
I would actually split 'splinters; the' into two separate sentences for more impact, like 'splinters. But the'.
I might put a comma in 'nothing for'.
The comma in 'spoke, “Enough' should be a period or, in this case, perhaps a colon.
Since there's another action going on, the comma in 'about, “MY' should be a period.
I'd probably capitalize the first letters of 'chaos raptors'.
I'd expand the sentence starting 'Another triumphant' to 'But they were answered with another triumphant'. As it was, it wasn't a complete sentence, lacking a verb. Also, I'd hyphenate 'seal covered'.
A period should go in 'out”'.
The comma in 'Tigurius, “You’ll' should be a period.
An 'a' should go in 'like Rhino'.
A 'the' should go in 'mistaking Chaplain’s'.
The comma in 'tone , “Is' should be a period. You also have an extra space.
The comma in 'pause, “Which' should be a period.
Same with 'face, “Sir' and 'concern, “Wait' and 'fools, “And'.
The comma in 'gathering,” his' should be a period and the H capitalized.
There are a lot of organs, to be sure, and doesn't he technically have 3 more?
Choose between the comma or the capital W in 'boomed, “We'.
The comma in 'declared, “What' should be a period.
You can really feel the difference in style between the start and end, along with the difference in sentence complexity.
Did this one do well in testing to maintain his bumbling nature and not get too serious? It's probably a tricky balance to maintain.

Not everything is about sex. 8k context can go a long way but not when you mix the two with sex. If you have a confession scene before the sex, have the sex, and then go on a little bit after, she's already forgot she confessed because it fell out of context and with the mood of the scene she's likely to do it again. Then when your context is full of nothing but sex and tension the AI is that more likely to bound back into another lengthy sex scene. It just repeats itself; not to mention your generations are going to be poisoned by the bad prose in that sex scene because I guarantee you weren't on top of grammar and mashed enter. A sex scene is just a short moment in time, it's a lot of words of no plot relevance which is damming for a system who's memory is dependent on how many words it can hold.

Either you have more than 8k context so you can have your cake and eat it, or you trim out the whole scene to bring everything that happened before back into context and continue from where you left off after the sex scene.
