Beat the game. 98 hours. Was pretty fun. They should have let me make Gallica queen.Anyway, there's no way the Altaburry arc wasn't cut content right? Like there's no way the mage academy wasn't supposed to be a full dungeon. I don't buy for a second the Opera House was intended to be the actual dungeon of the arc. The entire pacing of that part of the game is weird as fuck and it never quite recovers all the way to end. The first four arcs of the game are, I think, paced very well but the end game is a complete soup even if I like most of the things in that soup.(Also, holy fuck 900 second wait time to post. Lack of interest isn't going to kill these generals it's how miserable posting on this site has become.)

In P5 the changes between the earlier version of the game and the final version are noticeable in particular because of Joker having to take off his glasses whenever an animated cutscene's about to start because the cutscenes were seemingly done before they decided on him wearing glasses. Metaphor doesn't have anything that noticeable, but it probably did have those cutscenes done early all the same, and if that's the case then that fight was probably always planned to take place at that location some distance from the academy. I think it may have just been them thinking that sections like the Charadrius and Opera House would be accepted as substitutes for proper dungeons, but I don't think they actually hold up.

I fell off this game so hardI'm curious to hear other people's thoughts. I initially loved this game a ton: I was super into the story and I loved the archetypes system, but I'm mid September and I feel so over it. The biggest thing was the difficulty spike during/after the 4th dungeon. I've done every quest so far, every bounty, gotten every chest, and not skipped any fights and I'm still seriously underleveled. I barely survived the fight with the ice dragon and now even the field enemies are destroying me on the side quests. I hate grinding, and it makes me pissed that it seems to be somewhat required to progress. Secondly, I feel like the story has fallen apart completely. It spins up the big narrative in the beginning, but it seems like I'm approaching endgame at what ought to be the end of act 1. There have been so many seriously rushed and contrived plot points. The curse caster reveal felt poorly thought out and halfassed. And I've pretty much lost interest in wherever this is going.Lastly (and I would completely overlook this without the other two) there is a lot of missing polish. Tons of repeat dialogue, the bond arcs are mostly pretty basic, and don't have any real impact on the core story. Weird QOL things that could be improved. I think I just came into this expecting fantasy persona and it's really a shell of a game compared to persona, which bums me out
