Dumb question, but I really can't find any answer anywhere. Im playing on the Steam Deck and I hate the fact that this is about the only RPG I've ever played where all the dialogue skill checks are made by your character, unlike in every other game where if another character in your party has the skill, theirs is used instead. Now, there is a mod that can basically do that (https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/2171) but modding games on the deck is a bitch and a half. Given patch 7 added official mod support, is it simply a matter of downloading that mod and dropping it into whatever mod folder the game uses, or does it only work with 'officially sanctioned' mods in the browser?

Don't overthink builds because the game is too easy for it to matter. You only struggle a bit early on in Act 1 when you're below lvl 5 with a shit build, trying to do certain boss fights. Even then there are always options to cheese it.

Act 1 had great exploration and was very fun, Act 2 was absolute garbage and I will speedrun it next time and every other run I do. Everything was pointless and there was nothing of interest besides the Gauntlet which was mid. Doing embrace Durge in Act 2 might be a better experience. Act 3 is great so far.

That said, it's still good to have a cleric or a bard who can cast the other healing-adjacent spells like Restoration and Remove Curse, and Healing Word to yo-yo people back to life as a bonus action when they're downed in combat.
Doing overpowered builds is repetitive certainly, but cathartic. Melting bosses in one turn that once tripped you up is just heartwarming.
