Original (legit) vanilla WoW veteran here. People did use VC, but not as a name for the dungeon. You see, for most people, Deadmines was the first dungeon they ever did. They quested in Westfall, they did the Defias Brotherhood quest chain, and they got to the part where they would need to kill Van Cleef. Then they would start making groups to get the quest done. "LFG Van Cleef" got shortened to "LFG VC", etc. So while people did use the term "VC", it was never used as the name for the dungeon. If you asked people what dungeon, they would say "Deadmines", or "DM".

It took me just over 10 days /played to hit 60 on my Holy Paladin back in 2019. Took about 25 days IRL time. No guides, just questie to find new quests and see how to complete them,Plus I wanted to try questing in as many zones as possible to maximize quest XP and minimize time spent just grinding mobs for levels. I actually hit up Darkshore before lvl 20 instead of just rotating Westfall and Loch Modan every 2 levels when quests in one zone become orange, and then doing Redridge when both start drying up. Doing SFK and WC and such, doing the lvl 20 Paladin class quest for the amazing mace, that type of shit. Experiencing classic to it's fullest.
