Maybe I'm stupid. Why is this movie so comedic?I'm serious. This movie has such high stakes and such deep trauma but it keeps going back to silly jokes. "Haha, gerald's BUTTHOLE!!" Tom is in the hospital. Sonic and Shadow had a conversation about death. This happens within 5 minutes of those things. Because it's for kids? Satam was for kids and took itself more seriously. Sonic X adapted the exact same plotline and took itself more seriously. Is this for the adults in the crowd who would get embarrassed if it took itself too seriously? The Shadow and Maria stuff? 10/10. Honestly some of the best emotional work in the franchise.
