If I have a Base Set Charizard and I want to just keep it for collector's purposes regardless of the condition, is it even worth sending in to grade? It's not in the best shape, and I think slabs are kind of ugly.

I'm takign the opportunity to also look into actually playing the tcg just so the bulk I get from consooming packs can do more than just sit in a box.Once I get a dedicated favourites/FA binder I'd probably curate that a little more than this.Also I went with a deranged layout of treating the binder as an 8x3 spread, the very front and very back pages just have etb sleeves in them for the art

good morning fellow /tcc/hads, today I'd like to ask for some opinions. do you guys consider things like "minisets" as part of your personal collection? they've been doing it more recently with SIRs like the ogerpons in twilight or the loyal three + pecharunt in shrouded. Then more loosely, stuff like the treasure of ruin sirs or all the past/future paradox mons. Personally I have a lot of fun turning it into a sidequest to get the full set seeing as these cards usually aren't on the pricy range. Definitely not even going to attempt collecting the full set of eevolution sirs from prismatic though kek

I'm sure any copies out there are badly damaged due to the constant shipping to and from schools and because parents and kids don't care, and they ruined them because they were circulating in 2016. far before everyone had a spotlight on the card market in general. I have rare cards in other TCG's. including Pokémon. but these are truly rare pieces worth the price. there are also 2011 copies, but those were easier to obtain. at there are 62 of them in a PSA 10. everything said and done I spent 240 on the cards, grading fees and shipping. but they are valued at 2500. so, I 10x my value EZ. once again, not for sale. keep your 18k pop moonbreons.
and i like the story too. these cards are pretty undervalued IMO but thats because people really just dont know about them. the average scalper invooster isnt going to book fairs for cards since they are probably childless.

The back is completely peeling.There was some other cards I found as well in another drawer like a base set Holo Vileplume and Fossil Holo Hypno, but those cards were severely warped from moisture.The there was a small flood in our basement 10-15 years ago, and these were in a drawer close to the ground that I guess no one thought to look in, because at the very bottom there was a layer of cards (including some DBZ, Yugioh, and MtG) stuck together like a brick. Lots of other folders and books above them that I were fine so I guess just an assumption was made that nothing in the drawer was damaged. Unfortunate. Who knows what other cards were in that but those were the only 2 notable ones I saw that weren't stuck together, but they are likely unsalvageable. Can't say I plan on peeling this apart honestly.
