I used a site called pokemoncardmaker to generate that but I had to edit it in GIMP anyway to get the artwork to extend outside of the box, I'm going to adjust the transparency like you suggested too. Just pulled this tonight from a booster bundle.
Neat. One of the nicer art cards from Surging Sparks in my opinion.
Also got like my fucking third non-SIR Alolan Exeggutor EX god dammit.

I have a substantial collection of the earliest Pokemon card sets, but haven't really played or thought about Pokemon since 7th gen. Wondering what to do with my card collection though, I've basically looked at it maybe once in 20 years and otherwise it's been stored in a dark dry cupboard since then. Rather than just let it all rot away I'm wondering if I should sell it, I don't know prices but at a low guess I'd think it's worth $5000+

Anyone got any thoughts?

Could either let it sit and continue to (likely) rise in value till you need some quick cash and sell it then. Or you could put on a youtube video and sort through them all and price them out / organize them to see what they are worth to decide then if you'd rather hold or sell.
Additionally, if they aren't in proper protection, could take care of that as well. A lot of the old binders kids used to use can be a bit dangerous to the cards if pressed against binder rings and such, and proper card binders have become more common. Sleeve em first.

I'd have to double check, but I skimmed through what I have some months ago and have more than I'd realised. It was like the first full ten sets that were released other than base 2 with some first editions and 50ish promo cards, no duplicates.
I'll probably hold off a bit then maybe, I'm not hard pressed for money. I am scared to take them out of their sleeves for any sort of re-sleeving though, they've basically never been out of their sleeves since being originally put in and I feel like I'm more likely to damage them taking them out now than any potential damage that might be saved by swapping them to another folder or whatever.

I used to have a collection like this as a kid.
The woman who used to watch me and my 5 year old sister as a kid had a foster child who stole my binders. I kept that shit fucking CLEAN for a 9 year old. It was kind of weird for a time when social media didn't have an influence on kids. I just liked the cards to always look as nice as possible.
I got those binders back WEEKS later after tons of argumentation, me losing my 9 year old shit, etc. They were ALL damaged in some way or another. Removed from the binders. Some bent or straight up torn, and the sets were returned to me incomplete. I had multiple complete sets, like you anon.

yeah the last good shiny set was Shining Legends, that was quite soulful.
I really like Radiant cards but they were too common to feel special for me personally. The first time I got one though (Greninja) I freaked out since I thought it was something very rare, only to later find out otherwise kek
Ironically to my point Radiants had a cool holographic effect

Regardless, that's kind of immaterial to what the art looks like. Perrin's has the "excuse" of her actually looking at a Pokemon, but both very much look more like "Waifu Dates" than a lot of other cards. There's a reason Perrin's SIR is twice the price of Lana's despite their UR's being much closer in price, and at nearly the same price as Carmine's despite Carmine's UR being twice the price of Perrin's.
