I've never really given the first Battlefront a chance. I felt like Battlefront 2 was just an upgrade in every way, minus the maps. I decided to replay the first one today however and my opinion has changed. One of my biggest gripes was the lack of a run button. I almost thought it was something they accidentally left out because of how large the maps were. However after replaying it, I think they want you to focus on certain fronts of the map instead of moving from point A to point B on foot. The slowness also leads to some very intense fighting since you can't just sprint out and regroup. Playing it more like a pseudo tactical milsim game was an overall better experience than trying to play it like 2. The faction helper enemies not counting towards the overall score sucks though, and the 3 way battle maps are insanely difficult, but it's probably a skill issue. Anyways, OG Battlefront 1 and 2 thread.
>>12257356holy autism
>>12257365Honestly he's right. The burst rifle upgrade is rather annoying since it imposes a new fire mode on your weapon, which makes you waste ammo. And then there's the annoying-ass OP hero characters steamrolling everything.
>>12257356>>12257390The Sniper/Recon's beam rifle is the worst offender for this, turns a great weapon into a shitty laser beam that can't even headshot
>>12257363That reminds me of how droids always lose on the water maps because the droidekas roll through the water and drown en masse
>>122566742 is a downgrade.Jedis are cringe and space battles are boring.
Why did every Capcom game between 1996 and 2000 have the same jazz fusion soundtrack?
it's so fucking soulless
Jazz fusion is not the same as jazzy dnb
>>1225576119xx and Pocket Fighter should be there too. 19xx in particular sounds way too much like SFA2.
That type of sound was all the rage in Japan at the time, like Shibuya-kei.

>>12257145It would be nice if they could at least confirm the translation is still in development or not
game's kinda ass but i like the mutants' original designs
>>12257145>>12257234They are fags who weren't going to finish shit anyway. One year had passed since they teased "near completion!! get hype!!" when someone else posted something actually playable. And thank fuck for that.If they, against all odds and evidence, were going to actually release something, but decided against it because someone else used a machine translation? Even bigger faggots. If they had something better, it would of course replace the machine translation as the preferred patch. It had no impact on their work. The truth is they had nothing, they're useless, and their contribution of literally-nothing is worth 0% of what someone else whipped up on a whim.
Anybody here remember Gorky 17 (Odium in North America)? It was a Polish made, horror, tactical game from 1999. It follows a group of NATO operatives, infiltrating a Polish town overrun with monsters and mutants. It switches from point and click exploration and item management to turn based combat when encountering enemies. People describe it as a marriage between Resident Evil (during exploration, puzzles and inventory management) and XCOM (during combat encounters). It has a leveling and RPG system. It looks like a PS1 game, using 3D characters and objects, superimposed over detailed 2D enviroments and backgrounds (a la early RE games). The music, enviroments, characters and monster designes vary from solid to excellent.
More like Corky 17
>>12255119>It got a re-release on GOG recently.I bought it from GOG in 2013.
Okay so I just pirated it. Game seems cool enough but I'm almost out of healing items.Am I supposed to spend the whole game on the brink of death?
>>12257481in the early game you will often be short of ammo and healing stuff if you're too wasteful. it gets better later but dont expect an easy peasy game.
>>12257491The battles aren't difficult, but I use a lot of melee so I'm bound to get hit a lot.I think I'll uninstall, it's not fun despite being interesting.
>Remember...No Russian...
>>12250071>Russia is commiting war crimesX to doubt, but to answer your denial Russia did attempt to join NATO in the 00's as an equal partner to the US. GW Bush was supposedly open to the idea initially but later declined. It's a quite revealing story with implications of sorts.

Since you are done with Gradius and Parodius, now play Salamander.
>>12255895>>12255895Mushi is great, even the arrange and 1.5versions are so awesome.I would also get Gradius Origins and Ray'z Chronology.BLue Rev isn't retro, (you should've got Demon Blade Reboot instead desu)
>>12256492That game doesn't have cute girls though.
>>12256614Gradius with cute girls literally exists. It's official too.Although it bothers me how the hardest part about Otomedius is just finding a way to play it at all.
Does Mamorukun have any romance/hints of romance? Even blushing? Your answer will determine if I buy the game.
>>12257389Even if it did would you really want to use a shota to self insert?Anyway I just boughted it. That sequel can't come soon enough.
the music is really, really good. but besides that theres really nothing about this game that is better than x4 or 8. the boss fights, level design and power ups in those games are all way more fun. Im gonna play megaman x next and I get the feeling its gonna be the same story with that one. face the truth and admit it, MM peaked on ps1.
>>12256964>delay between a button press and the moment the key framesFalse.>too weak at base level, and too strong at upgraded levelIt's not a difficult game. This is not an issue.>"let's throw dozens of shitty braindead enemies at the player all at once", which end up making the game very messyWhat even is this complaint? It's just more things to shoot at.>X4 which is full of boring straight linesThe X series are action games first, with less emphasis on platforming than MMClassic games.
>>12257080>False.Your webm literally shows what I'm talking about, you just lack reading comprehesion. It takes a quarter of a second for MM in the NES game to reach his key frame, and it takes an ENTIRE second MM8 because of that shitty looking animation. Animations affect visual response.
>>12257126He's already jumping, and both of them jump the same number of times. The animation's frames are completely separate from the actual jumping register, you imbecile. You can't git gud at the easiest MMClassic game so you resort to complaining about non-issues.
>>12257134Why is it so hard for you to comprehend that animations affect how the gameplay feels? That is basic game design. When MM11 was being made initially the animations were shitty similarly to MM8's, people complained about it and the devs changed it.What you're talking about is seperate but with that said, what you're saying isn't even true. You had to wait at the end of the first jump so that both 8 and classic can match, because 8's jump is more floaty and takes a longer. Even when you spam the button at the end 8's jumps are more floaty and longer. Like I said though that wasn't what I was talking about, you brought this up.
>>12256964Thumbnail looks like Megaman has a giant cock.
Is it just me or is this game literally unplayable? I don't know what the fuck they did to the controls, Wave Race 64 controlled perfectly why did they change it? It feels so stiff an unresponsive, I genuinely feel like I have no control over the game most of the time.
>>12253679iirc the controls take a lot of getting used to and vary WIDELY depending on the character. Try using a few different characters and see who you can get a feel for. Some are much easier than others to get to grips with. It's a great game but I do fee like the controls put a lot of people off. Once you've found a groove it feels good, but it's quite difficult.
>>12255170Scary if true. You should see a doctor about that.
>>12255946Is Rockstar (North & San Diego) a gaijin studio?
>>12255946You say that but nip games are full of referential humor and puns. When you realize most nip humor is reddit tier trash that isn't funny you start to understand why it was obscure to begin with. As it turns out "kusoge" really does mean shitty games not "quirky hidden gem". Yeah some games don't go west side due to the amount of text but some games really are just garbage that aren't worth playing. Yeah I know Mario is a nip game but we both know that's not what you're talking about it's low effort rpg number 286.
>>12253679I've been saying this since the day it came out. They fucked up the controls doing this. In the original you could pull down right and down left to do quick tight turns, but in BS that does the exact same as using left or right on the control stick. They also fucked up not using the R or L triggers for acceleration, and instead used A, which would have been fine, but Nintendo went full retard with that controller and didn't give it analog face buttons like the PS2 and XBOX had.
mario, zelda, metroid, kirby, punch out, contra, castlevania, mega man, dragon quest were all more fun on NES than SNES. not to mention ninja gaiden which didnt even get anything besides a shitty demake. was there anything that actually got better with 16 bit besides FF and mother?
>>12253906nah. amiga was only 4channel 8bit. snes could do 8 channels 16bit and had a dsp/fir filter> the Mega Drive's sound capabilities were far betterit's a great chip but comparing pure fm synth+one dac channel to snes 8ch dac is kinda dumb>>12253919>embarrassing lolcow austerspammer has people living rent free in his meth soaked mind incredible
>>12255620nope, I literally played all the NES games in the past couple years after I took the emu pill and I actually grew up with the snes games. was surprised I enjoyed them more. theyre all good though. the challenge and simplicity of the 8 bit games is just endearing to me. plus I really enjoy the 8 bit sound and graphics more than 16 bit for some reason.

I think we can all agree that every game in the original RE trilogy is great
>>12257336Directors cut if you are buying a physical copy and want dual shock controls. Original if you are emulating, or original then DC if emulating
>>12257338I'm 37 and I've finished it and remake multiple times with each character. There are no B scenarios like Resi 2, as it has an A scenario and B scenario for each character. There is only one each for Chris and Jill. Dickhead.
>>12257336There are 3 different versions of the first Resident Evil>Resident Evil>Resident Evil Directors Cut>Resident Evil Directors Cut Dual ShockPlay either the original version or the directors Cut. The Dual Shock version replaces the soundtrack with a different one that is much worse. It unfortunately is the only one available on Playstation stores but I think the GOG one has the original soundtrack and the Saturn port would as well
>>12257336the real definitive version of RE 1 is the directors cut but NON-DUAL SHOCK. Only the DUAL SHOCK VERSION has the fucked up music. If you're playing it on an emulator just map the D pad to the stick you want. its the best one with the original music and arrange mode that changes things around or lets you get double ammo "without entering cheats". Makes it easy as a first play through with Chris if you've never been able to beat the game as. himalso I think the GCN remake blows compared to the original. sure the graphics are awesome even by todays standards but all the extra bull shit rooms and the CRIMSON HEAD FUCKS ruin it. After one or two play throughs of RE1 OG you'll have it mentally mapped out and it can be fun to run through just for fun after that (rather than "experiencing a game"). like if you were on a domestic plane ride its something you could pick up and pretty much complete by the time you landtheres also RE DS "deadly silence" which I guess I picked up cheap during covid with my trump bux but now it goes for over 100 dollars. not sure if its worth it at that price but it has some really good QOL improvements like you always have the knife (like in RE4) and can "tactical reload". Theres the regular version and the Deadly Silence. version which adds some very gay forced knife only battles. but if you don't have a chinkheld type device and want to play RE1 on the go, this would be the way to do it.
>>12257408meant to say for RE:DS theres regular mode and DS mode, regular is like ps1 w/ qol improvements, DS mode is the knife hell
