Is it good for retro gaming or do 30fps and below games look too juddery like a slideshow?
>>12484840games that run below 30 FPS looking juddery has nothing to do with OLED. thats just how it be.Lossless Scaling will fix that

WHY IS EVERY DUNGEON A TELEPORTER MAZE I FUCKING HATE THIS GAME
>>12478619I remember when I bought it the guy at the vidya store looked for the hint book for like 20 minutes before giving up and I just bought it without one. I ended up getting stuck in that damn mareura gum island maze for literally 4 hours and couldn't even escapipe to escape and save. I just had to keep playing until I found the exit. Somehow I made it out alive without having to redo it, which over 30 years later I'm still proud of and is why I even remember it at all.
>>12482629IIRC it was part of the fun and added a lot more hours to the game. You felt like an adventurer mapping out the dungeon as you went, adding your own little notes and such to it. The original Phantasy Star didn't come with a guide either. It's archaic design but I can see the point. What I said could just be total bullshit but you do come across the rare post on the internet of people saying "my parent/sibling's map from back when they played X" so it was a common thing to do. I'm sure it also made guides a big selling point too.
Phantasy Star 2 is the best in the series. People complaining about the dungeons are just weaklings. When you beat a PS2 dungeoln, you really feel you've earned it. The aesthetic is fantastic, everything makes sense diegetically (clone labs, data memory, teleporters, etc), the fact you can customise your party membership and have a lot of viable options for equipment makes it more like a WRPG dungeon crawler than the usual on-rails story driven JRPG. Plus, you know, legendary characters, legendary shock value, legendary boss fight at the end, legendary twist.
>>12477667Yeah it's shit. PS1 was so much better
>>12478638Are you retarded? It says "I guess", not I as in a roman numeral 1.
When did the iconic wild-west style commercial for games truly die out and why? They were weird for sure but it was a pretty light hearted way to advertise your game.
Gameboy Color ads mostly what I remember.
>>12479034And all 3 died with Nintendo but Atari specifically was salty.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ic0nvtNfDRMhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNTpXX43QxY
>>12480958>https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MqGP8OyU02k>Nintendo actually hired the Butthole SurfersMan, they were really going for it after those Sega commercials ripped on them, huh?
I mostly remember Sega commercials, they played a lot on cartoon stations.Nintendo advertised heavily on Much Music (canadian MTV) for the N64.

I've got some stuff I filter with 4chan X, and it's honestly a godsend
What are some examples of retro games that can’t be emulated properly without the physical copy? I only know of a few handheld games like pic related and “WarioWare Twisted” that had physical hardware gimmicks that you can’t experience otherwise. Or games like the GBC pod racing game that had a battery powered rumble pack.

Boktai never worked properly even with the original cart and OG horizontal GBA. I remember having to basically sit directly in the sun to get any meter all.
>>12484825Your cart must have been fucked up, it worked great for me.
I'm playing Ocean Hunter in the Model 3 emulator and the reticle doesn't line up with the mouse cursor on screen. I can't find a calibration option in the game's service menu. Does anyone know how to fix it?

>>12480516thunder rock: no money scenario
>>12483480What RCT really needed was an option for "have x coasters in your park with y excitement" which would check if you used a prebuilt or not. The flag already exists for this to check for the "Best Custom Coasters" award. I feel like it was a missed opportunity to have "easy" scenarios to ease people into coaster building by giving a small selection of forgiving shit (Woodie/Wild Mouse variants/Virginia Reel/Junior/Looping/) while enforcing custom construction.Something like "Have 5 custom coasters with a minimum excitement rating of 5.30" to get people building stuff that merely satisfies stat reqs would have been a good category if paired with a time limit and park rating limit since the actual problem with that scenario type is that there's no incentive to build an actual park beyond a few thrill rides/a shuttle loop/whatever to fund it.
It really needs more scenario options in general because there's really only a couple, park value, guests by X, merchandise profit per month, coaster X length. They're pretty lame. I'm not sure what parkitect did or if it had more variance. You could have something like build a coaster with X score, build a (specific type of coaster) of X metres long, profit from coasters per month >X, build (a list of different rides)

Despite vastly preferring Street Fighter, I really like how meaty the attacks are in this. Every punch and kick has a nice heavy weight to it which is really cool to see in a fighting game from this era. Good game.
>>1248346515 hours and no replies?
>>12483465Are the controls weird in MK2 arcade or was it just the place I went to? Block was like the medium punch button or something. I tried to do the arcade and lost on the second fight because the controls made no sense to me. I also didn't realize how good MK2 looks in the arcade. I've only ever seen the console versions.
