>The original 2005 GameCube release of Resident Evil 4 is the most difficult version, featuring more aggressive enemy AI, lower item drop rates, and, in the NTSC-U version, higher damage output. Later ports, such as the PlayStation 2 and HD releases, generally softened these elements to accommodate different hardware and controllers.

This is true, but it's also the only version I can beat without using the shotgun, and only using the first pistol, bolt action rifle, and broken butterfly. This version actually drops ammo depending on what you have, so while very difficult on hard mode, you can beat it this way. Was never able to do it on the HD version.

I remember the ballistics Ashley Graham carries with her had physics applied in the US Gamecube version but not the Japanese Gamecube version.

You also get significantly more ammo in the gamecube version

No, he's right. There's multiple sites that did comparisons but their videos are all dead now.

I'm like 99% confident the "enemies are more likely to drop ammo of a certain kind if you're low on that kind" mechanic is present in the Wii and PC versions too because it's the only versions I played and I noticed that.

It's there, but all releases since GameCube NTSC-J have individual ammo caps, so enemies stop dropping shotgun shells after you have 25, magnum ammo after you have 15, and minethrower ammo after you have 10. In the original NTSC-U release they just roll from a ratio based on your inventory's total ammo value, and the drop rate on magnum ammo and grenades was much higher.
