I was born Christian but am finding it extremely difficult to maintain my belief. Everytime I overcome a hurdle a new barrier to belief comes along, whether it be textual criticism of the Bible, gnosticism making more sense, evidences for evolution, the seeming randomness of people's outcomes, etc. I really want to believe but I can't. But I'm also not a complete materialist, I have had paranormal experiences, and I believe there is things beyond the physical, but I'm not sure what. I am open to other religions, I lived near a Sikh community for years and they generally seemed like better people than many Christians. What do you guys believe and why? I used to have the gift of prophecy, but I don't know if I have it anymore because I sinned. I could see the future. Every now and again I hear the future sometimes. I have this weird thing that whenever I think of a trip I had or come in contact with something related to it, I get a mini version of it. What this looks like is that I can walk through a forest or something, with heightened senses, and out of nowhere it's just like I'm on shrooms again.
