Scrying is second best, but it can be taxing. Tarot gets used when it seems necessary or needed.Sometimes all of them are used, in a priority system. Scrying>Pendulum>Cards>Ouija. If it's occult oriented, always scrying and pendulum, sometimes cards. I always scry first and use other methods later to get nuance/detail/clarification.

I just do the usual prep, settle down, empty my head as best as I can, then just ask questions and wait. The strongest the pull/feel for the query and current, the better the results tend to be. If nothing comes after a while, that's that. You can use a tool like water or a mirror, or just close your eyes. I'm not effectively the one providing answers, I just politely ask and see if any of given, then relay them to the best of my ability. Rarely literal, usually come in symbols and allegories that are based on subconscious association. There are rare times when certain things are directly meant for the querent, so reporting what you see AND then what you suppose it means is generally better.
