It's a given at this point, the whole rest of the show has communicated that - the band members try hard as fuck and play hard as fuck, we know. From the very beginning S3 never tried to show that. The montage, however poorly edited you think it was, is probably more appropriate than the usual arduous performance. Kumiko isn't performing the soli, she's more concerned with why she wanted that in the first place. Kyoani isn't animating the band's every fingering, they're more concerned with what those struggles mean and result in. You shouldn't be worried about seeing their snaps and sweat, you should be contemplating what impact those small moments of triumph have on the characters and on you. It all feels pretty cohesive to me.

I looked up a picture of a concert band in my city and boy the 2D > 3D gap has never been more apparent. Although when you think about it the majority of the characters in Hibike are also pretty dopey looking by anime standards.
