Chapter 113 - END
>>273302895Past Evra, my beloved.
>>273302948Its feels so good to see him back.
>>273302895He made them more bustier.
>>273303005Poor Darren. It hurts to see how he can't interact with Crepsley in any meaningful way.
>>273303258Imagine being thwarted because you couldn't be asked to read a damn book. The real lesson here is to read as much as possible.
>>273303669Doing all of the rest?
>>273303769Saving the rest for the final.
>>273303139
>>273303188I hate the "you can't change the future, only create a new timeline" bullshit.
>>273302948MY MAN
>>273302948This is the one thing I actually do like in time travel stuff. The drama that comes from people at different points in their lives crossing paths like this. It's so sweet that Darren gets a small moment to see him again.
>>273304837Damn fine coloring. Its good to see Crepsley back and looking as sharp as ever.
>>273304837I miss his yaoi hands.
>>273303258Thank you for posting. We're so close now.
>>273304837thank you for your service. I kinda forgot just how long it's been since he's been around
>>273302895Arai definitely made Evra a lot less feminine this time around.
>>273304837Absolutely fucking basedI can't take Crepsley seriously with those sandals though
Kino
>>273303035>Mr. Crepsley is illiteratelolLMAOwhat a fucking LOSER
>>273308808AROUND THESE PARTS CREPSLEY IS A HERO.*END OF SUBJECT*!
>>273308808>200 something years old>illiterateThis, can't be true right?
>>273304837I always like how you use gradients.
>>273302948The shitty sandals are eternal.
>>273309855How dare you.
>>273303005Darren has three dads, T-H-R-E-E DADS! While Steve has ZERO! How is that fair? Steve was completely justified in his hate.
>>273304837Very cool! Seeing Crepsley in his performer attire is kind of nostalgic.>>273303350A good and necessary change.
>>273302933I think Darren botched the arms a bit, both of them somehow
>>273311217Kek. It's like when you are at the barber and you don't like how your hair looks when it's done but you are too awkward to say anything.
>>273311217My sides
>>273311217Rare bad Arai drawing.
>>273302906Truska, my beloved.
>>273313297>rare
>>273315777Yes.
>>273308808He was too busy being a total chad to waste his time with book learnin.
>>273316207>Arra is supposed to be average at best>Arai draws her as a complete hottieBased Arai
>>273311235It's okay, they'll fix it up during the next cut.
>>273303258Generally I hate reset endings because at the end why did everything matter if you're just going to do away with it all but Stone Ocean and Crique Du Freak are probably the two exceptions where I don't mind it. There's something incredibly poignant, and bittersweet about the whole ordeal plus seeing all the faces one last time before Darren moves on was nice. I do hate it how Darren does an almost similar ending in Demonata which just feels like lazy writing
>>273303258What I would have done to make this more impactful is foreshadow in book 2, and even 7, that Mr. Tiny doesn't get why Darren keep a diary and how the sword is mightier than the pen for it writes destiny.
>>273303258Thank you OP!
>Darren O'Shaughnessy initially wanted to add an intimate sex scene between Darren and Debbie in the Cirque du Freak manga but the idea was rejected by Takahiro Arai, who argued that "Darren would not do that because he was saving himself for Steve".
>>273319717It sucks they never worked together again over this. They could've talked it out and compromised.
>>273318484And then we could've done away with Evanna hammering the point home in the previous chapter, which almost felt like a rush job to set the groundwork for Darren's play.
>>273318484I feel like Shan had his ideas of what the case with Tiny was all along, at the very least he must have thought he was going to be open to changes in the timelines that furthered his goals. See this exchange from volume 2 in his first appearance>Perhaps the theater. No, the bridge...Makes it sound like Shan knew the eventual turn for Steve but not quite how much Tiny was involved directly.
>>273320472There is one thing with every villain so far that Tiny himself lacks. Representation of weakness. For Murlough was his insanity. For Kurda was his righteousness. For Steve was his hate. But each weakness was at least shown before their eventual defeat. Tiny's weakness comes at the very last second because him being the villain comes at the last second. Of course we do know that the stories were cut short and there were to be six more books, but I definitely feel as if his weakness being the fact he overlooks the contributions of others was shown earlier this would have landed more.
>>273319717BASED ARAI
Evanna should have send Darren back in time to kill Destiny parents, but no.
>>273320839I think I said that before, but I think his weakness should have been that he is a fraud. Maybe he is an immortal wizard, maybe he is actually a demon - but he is not Fate or Destiny or alligned with it it any way - he just pretends to be, via manipulating events. You could even theorize how much power he actually has - what if the Coffin of Fire and Hall of Princes are once again just future technology he stole?>>273303873Its a bit iffy on me as well - I shall say more tomorrow, but it certainly makes the world more determenistic which I think the larger theme of the book is rejecting that.
>>273307502I prefer all of the older child designs.
>Steve got to shag but not Darren who died a virgin It's not fair lads>>273321108I think Tiny is just something that came into existence without the need of having parents to do so but I'm genuinely curious on his origin and backstory.
>>273322219Only evil people die not a virgin.
i find it hard to imagine either of these bunch of illiterate murderhobos deciding the fate of the world desuthe way they're portrayed doesn't make them seem especially invincible or influentialjust tiny decides it's so, so it's so
I wonder if perhaps Shan was influenced or inspired by HBO's Carnival while writing this? The more I think about it the more similar they seem.
>>273323401Doubt it, Carnivale started on 2003 and he began writing the series in 1999 at least.
By the way, Evanna was an adoptive mother for Gannen and Vancha when they were young before they were taken under the wing of a vampaneze.
>>273323645Then really coincidentally because they cover incredibly similar themes and both use a traveling carnival as a backdrop or excuse for traveling. Carnival has much better lore though.
>>273323751They double teamed their own adoptive mother!?
>>273323871Maybe Carnivale was inspired by the first books? The producer probably came across the book and thought it had potential.
>>273323945
>>273324048Based. I imagine Vancha made the most of it, while Gannen powered through it.
>>273324278I know it's not exactly incest, but is it incest.
>>273324290Darren Shan likes his "indirect incest"
>>273324350How many levels of incests are we on now?
>>273323945Incestchads cant stop winning!
>>273324350Gege would love this story.
>>273318484 But Darren wrote about his reality and Tiny doesn't care about fantasy.
>>273323945>What are you doing, stepmom!?
>>273322219If his talk about "measuring time in continental drift" was more than just trying to look big then the dude is probably older then humanity.
>>273303188I hate that Darren just lets two new innocent kids get themselves into this mess. What the fuck is this? I get that "it's to foil Tiny's plans" but this still seems asshole-ish.
>>273327863Last chapter awaits.
>>273327942ALREADY?!??
>>273328088Yeah homie. For the EU bros.
Yzilma where are you?!
