>>151961137Honestly, I'd just say restore Spider-Gwen's universe and stuff. There's too many spider-people in 616.
>>151954681>>151962680>Mary Jane. Aunt May died because of the Vax! >We gotta sell our marriage to the devil to fix this!
>>151962595I've got to imagine there is some case in the history of a plot where this produces absurdity. Like some case where a character needs to contact another one urgently due to some event and would naturally have their cell number but they couldn't contact them as part of the storyline because they were actually written in the 1960s when such a thing didn't exist. Or some other kind of scenario.
Marvel comics should just use the "multiverse" versions of Marvel Rivals at this point
>>151963224Yeah it was really silly seeing the whole "Shocker's gang is driving up crime" and like there are 50 fucking Spider people around why is this even an issue

Wouldn't outlawing superheros immediately result in supervillains running rampant with no one to stop them
>>151963627The supers that go evil are just memory holed by the government.
Gamma jack killed most villans
>>151963627I always assumed that the NSA scouted supers to make sure they didn't become villains. Give them fame, luxuries, and a sense purpose to placate them and if they ever decide to defect you already have a small militia of other supers to keep them inline.
>>151962114Notice how the movie never explicitly uses the term "superhero" or "supervillain." The NSA was never about preventing heroes and villains from running amok, they were about tard-wrangling, protecting, and controlling a dangerous minority. They controlled the narrative because they owned supers. That's what Incredibles 2 was trying to get at but that movie was too rushed to come to that conclusion.

What are some comics and cartoons you read and watched for the first time and enjoyed in 2025?Not necessarily stuff that came out during that time
>>151961558True, Paul Smith stuff was the peak. But I like his earlier works too, if only because they’re not nearly as insufferable as the later stories got.

>Has there been a favorite story you’ve read? I know nothing about the Life With Kurami characters outside Ana and Kurami, so you’ll have to fill me in on who Zane is.Zane is Ana's cat and Dee's take on a 'Garfield' character. Kurami's the only one that can properly understand his thoughts, so they got a fair amount of strips together. There's one I remember of her and Zane dealing with Ana's new vacuum cleaner that was pretty funny, or a gag with the two taking shelter in Ana's bra. I ponder over Plush Maria because of pic-related, part of a mini-arc of Zane reacting to Kurami's new cat toy. It could be funny to see him witness it do something lovecraftian and be unable to tell anyone. The strip tends to get storytimed on Mother's Day by some considerate anons, but you can find a good chunk of them on Dee's tumblr: https://lifewithkurami.com/post/619706637169590273It's not an arc per se, but some of my favourite parts of the strip involve Ana working at a bakery alongside her Aunt Chicago. Unruly teens egging the place, Ana being forced to dress like a pumpkin to sell pumpkin spice stuff, experimenting with new concoctions and making chaos...even addressing some of Ana's insecurities of constantly living under Murphy's law.>>151958930Wasn't taking requests this time unfortunately, but that's a really fun idea and I hope someone tackles it.
>>151958360>>151964259Reply got messed up, sorry about that
>>151964259That's pretty cute. I do wonder if any other characters from his past comics will come into rosebuds. I actually wonder if the Velvet baker was to be a replacement for Ana's bakery job. He seems to be intentional with giving old ones a spotlight somehow. Do you have a favorite Rosebuds arc?
Previous >>151926056Today is 2019Previously, there was a lot of hustle and bustle with the Starbuck Jones movie finishing production. The cast had a Comic-Con panel and afterwards it was decided, thanks to a tweet from Jeff Murdoch, to hold the premiere at the Valentine Theater in Centerville as an attempt to save it. Pete, for some reason, was sent ahead to do "advance work" and encountered Mindy—Jeff's daughter, Ed Crankshaft's granddaughter and ex-Montoni's waitress—and somehow the two of them hit it off and began dating. Around the same time, Darin managed to meet and connect with comics legend Phil Holt who soon after died and left him a bunch of comic cover illustrations which Pete subsequetly auctioned off for charity much to the approval of the ghosts of Lisa and Phil. At the SJ premiere, there was also a double wedding as Cliff Anger and Vera Nash were married alongside Mason and Cindy.Pete and Darin were contacted later on by Chester Hagglemore who wanted to start up a new company to "revive the spirit of Batom Comics" and with SJ done, the two bozos decided to leave their better paying jobs for Atomik Komix where it was seemingly just them until they were later joined by Mindy as a colorist. Meanwhile Bull managed to form a friendship with Buck Bedlow, a rival player from Big Walnut Tech, and the two would regularly get together to reminisce about their playing days. Wally started up his last semester of college and was paired up with Adeela, an Iraqi immigrant, in a partnership that started awkwardly but was eventually smoothed over. He also learned that Rana had reembraced Islam and intended to become a teacher and go back to Afghanistan so she could educate girls there.
She lives!Anyway, that's it for this year; next year will cover 2021. Lisa's Story finishes production and is released, Dinkle starts working with the St. Spires church choir and in Centerville and the Atomik Komix crew heads out to Comic-Con to honor Flash Freeman and Ruby Lith.Yeah, it's a slow year.
