Tohru was coming into his own as a chi wizard, taking the lead from Uncle, the talismans weren't able to completely tip the scales like in past seasons, and the various Shadowkhan clans added some new life to the expendable minions who had mostly just been TMNT Foot Clan fodder at that point. While not to say the final season had nothing good going for it, there's no denying they had really reached the limits their creativity, at least with the status quo the show had established after so long. Jade wasn't going to age up, so she was stuck as the kid who still got into trouble and often needed Talisman's to be able to fight any threats she couldn't outwit. Likewise, they weren't going to do much with things like Jackie and Viper's relationship since having cartoon Jackie become a family man probably wouldn't have done much better than "let's take that fanfic kid of Shendu and have him basically repeat the season 2 plot"Still wish the series had a full DVD release, or better yet a bluray remaster.
