>Unless we're talking about the original show where Ben turned into copies of the originals
We are. That's the basis of the Benfire scenario.

>but even then, I feel like they'd pussy out.
That's a meta argument, not an in-universe argument.

>I just meant that they're not really "female-presenting" if that makes sense.
They're a single-sex species that reproduces asexually. Why would they adopt social roles which reflect different sexes in a sexually dimorphic species?

>so the concept of "producing eggs = female" doesn't necessarily apply to them
It's a biological term which applies to anything, anywhere, that produces eggs. Some plants produce eggs, and those are female. You know why it's the male seahorses that get pregnant? Because they're the ones that produce sperm, not eggs.

>I specifically remember the Namekians not being aware of the concept of mothers.
Why would they? They don't rear offspring like humans do, and they don't have sex-differentiated social roles.

Yeah, the idea is from back when the original show came out, so the watch was still mysterious. Even if you take into account the other shows, every season the watch gets upgraded or Ben gets a different model, Who is to say his old watch didn't just copy the last alien sample it came in contact with?

>Cosmic
Marvel. DC is mostly just Lantern shit and the Fourth World. Marvel has a lot more variety and I generally prefer its Space Western atmosphere. Even though I'm sure Marvel has fallen by the wayside by now, nothing will top Annihilation for me.

>Planetary
DC. The Justice League just has an enormity of scale and storytelling the Avengers can't match. They feel like the kind of heroes you could actually trust to save the planet time and time again. Even their infighting feels more mature than it does with the Avengers. Plus nothing will top JL(U) in my books.

>Street Level
Marvel. I've always liked the vibe of Marvel's street level as kind of a little neighbourhood watch/family of ground pounders helping each other out - it's really one of the things they do best. The fact that everyone is in New York helps. The closest equivalent DC has is the Bat-Family, and I hate those guys.

>Alternate Universes
Obviously DC. I don't even think an explanation is needed here.

>Magic
DC. I can't even really think of anything particularly interesting Marvel has done with magic.

It's a shame how DC fell off on cosmic.
Old-School 80s GL, Omega Men, Invasion, L.E.G.I.O.N., etc.
They used to crush it.

What are some cartoons that you think will survive the test of time? Not that tumblr loreshit that everyone fawns over for a month and then forgets about, I'm talking the real classics from since the 90s
>pic maybe related? At least if everyone memory holes what came after

One, we were talking about girl shows specifically. Two, both of those are one-offs, which helps them stand out immensely. Three, I'm not sure I'd characterize them as ukelele art school music, at least not in the same mode as Sugar style. They're both framed more as folk songs, whereas the Sugar style is more about singing your thoughts aloud. Sugar style is more closely related to Disney than what the AtLA song are doing.

Avatar will be remembered as a failed franchise like Voltron, Thundercat, He-man and all those other cartoons that get carried by their first iterations.
>>
>>152092898
Being overly in-touch with your audience can be a bad thing, yes. Voltron's a victim of that. Still, I think it's a less common and less (immediately) deadly problem than being desperately out of touch with your audience. But we needn't operate in extremes. Know your audience and find a way to express yourself within the framework of their desires. Greatness lay in finding that balance.
>>
>>152093021
More like no one remembers the failed sequels and reboots while the original remains standing. This happens in movies all the time. Go pick a memorable 80s action movie and it probably has at least one sequel (more likely 4 or 5 sequels) and a reboot by now. Even if everything else fails, the original often still holds up.

it is, but at the same time its more worldbuilding and an actual examination on how being transformed affects the character.
Like, in comic it is no ones fetish, just an odd thing that happened and they have to deal with it.

>Greenland
Basically Planet Hulk. I remember that area was supposed to be inhabited by Hulk savages and ruled by Red Hulk (who was Steve Rogers), but then there was an area that was like a modern middle class city but people could Hulk-out if angry.
>DoA
Basically the world of AoA. For some reason, Cypher was the main character of that mini.
>Technopolis
Basically Armor Wars. I remember that area was ruled by Tony Stark and everybody had to wear an armor or else they would die.
>King James England
The biggest travesty.
>Marville
I expected a revision of the original Marville, the one that gave us so much pain. Instead, it was another kids Avengers vs X-Men.
>New Quack City
Everyone who inhabited there were animals, except for Howard the duck, who was the only human.
>The Hydra Empire
Basically Secret Empire before Secret Empire.

I hate AI because I hate coding/mathematics.

I tried to get in to AI but seems I first need to be a /g/eek to do it so properly. I'm not learning what takes most people over 10 years in 2 months just to make cartoon tits. I am not math oriented at all, fuck code.
>>
>>152092261
This is something I genuinely consider the issue.
Say whatever you want but the AI Dungeon threads on /v/ were fun. We didn't know if we were looking at an eternal disaster or the messy first steps of a future where this kind of technology could be incorporated into every NPC on a more sophisticated level.
But we knew we had fun watching it go insane with just how off the rails a story could go in record time.
One of my favorites was when someone said to grab an npcs "melons" and the AI interpreted melon as a verb and smashed her fucking head. Then the whole thread derailed as we kept making OP "melon" everything like the inverse of Facade
>>
>>152093035
They removed something for AI, so the person literally showed their work and the mod said "no it looks too much like AI so it encourages AI"
And it set off a hilarious fucking domino effect where the people were realizing anything that looked too close to classical or realistic artstyles was on the chopping block.
>>
>>152093138
That mod was literally an AIfag trying to blur the lines, dude got kicked off Reddit for that incident and then it turns out he was conspiring to flood the sub with AI slop not long after.
>>
>>152089580
Incredible how the piss filter keeps getting worse every time I see some AI slop. It's getting to the point where I can barely see the fucking image, while jeets will look you dead in the eye and pretend like it's improving.
