Decided to give this a read since I really liked Maggin's Superman novels. There's a lot of good stuff in here but it's not on the same level as his previous prose efforts. Maggin's Lex is great as always but the book suffers from not having Superman for him to bounce off of, it ends up making Lex too much of a straightforward hero.

A big portion of the back half of the book is devoted to Lex deposing an unnamed president of Russia. Maggin still knows how to tell a propulsive and funny story but he could have used an editor, there were numerous typographical errors as well but that might be down to sloppy digitization. Highlights include Lex trying to commit suicide by cop by robbing Fort Knox only to get away with it, Lex flying through a wormhole and trying to describe how he experienced 11 dimensions through a 4 dimensional brain, and Lex's fascination for apiculture.
