Reason this can't work for bob is because he loves his craft too much. Bob would never buy the cheapest or most dangerous ingredients we've seen it he finds unique ingredients because he is a real chef. He just is trapped in a shitty restaurant. While Jimmy is a great/scummy business man who likes to pretend he's a chef. The reality is they were never in competition as Jimmy is ok with being shit but that's also why he hates bob he has passion and real dreams. Jimmy will still be selling the same shitty pasta today, tomorrow, and in 20 years. He just in it for the money which makes his job easier

I've been going through the more recent Conan run on marvel that they had briefly. Savage Avengers was dumb as hell but the main books have been alright. It's easy to see why Zub got poached for Titan.

Around the end of the decade it could be compared to Thundercats etc. But before that there was not a lot of good competition. Even the 80s toy commercials did not look too amazing until 86 or so. But overall it was a decently well made show by people that actually seemed to give a shit about making a decent show. And it was in syndication at the start, not some leftover saturday morning cartoon that was moved to afternoons.
