Digman season 2 is finally over. MAJOR SPOILERS so don't read if you didn't watch all of season 2. Season 2 was OK, but it was kind of a disappointment. It took 2 years to make 8 episodes of season 2. Many of which are fillers. A major plot of season 1 was Rip trying to revive Bella, but when Bella finally wakes up, she just decides to leave Rip and acts coldly towards him. There were some touching moments like Saltine finding out how awful her parents were, and Saltine failing the Arky trials. Season 2 ends with Rip Digman dying, he gets electrocuted to death and passes his Arky title on to Saltine. Saltine keeps Rip frozen, just like Rip kept Bella. It's a decent ending to a season 2, but 2 years for 8 episodes is way too long to wait, especially for an archaeological adventure comedy show. This is a good cliffhanger for a season 3, but we may not even get a season 3 and Rip may just stay dead trapped in ice forever
>>150172288Saltine a cute
>>150172559I hate how accurate this is to Digman's comedic stylings

Episode 1:>The episode is bookended with flash-forwards of John Stewart and Hal Jordan being interrogated by strange, alien voices in dark, unearthly rooms. They explain how they met.>The main story is set in modern day USA. In a town called Hope Springs in Iowa, an elderly man is murdered during a robbery. The murderer steals a glowing green lantern and a green ring. There are visual hints that the old man once had some connection to the Justice Society of America, a group of superheroes active in the 1950s. It feels vaguely Watchmen-ish.>The next morning we meet Hal Jordan, flying a fighter jet high enough to see the stars. He wakes up and it’s a dream, he’s living as a drifter bumming it across the country kind of like he was in the 90s comics. He’s got the white temples and is way more angsty/jaded than Ryan Reynolds‘ Hal. He DOES NOT have his ring, but still has a heroic streak that shows when he stops a gas station robbery. He moves on before the police can find him.>Meanwhile the sheriff of Hope Springs, Kerrie Kane, investigates the murder from the opening scene. GL John Stewart arrives. Sheriff Kerrie is surprised to see him, saying she knew the previous Green Lantern and he wasn’t black. John states that he’s new. John initially thinks investigating a small-time murder in bumfuck nowhere is below his pay grade, until he finds out who the murder victim was: Golden Age GL Alan Scott. John picks up an energy signature at the crime scene using his ring.>Hal arrives in town shortly after, and uses the last of his money to purchase a few hours flying a prop plane. It makes him happy, but he realizes he needs a job.
>Hal and John finally find the ring after tracking down several local ne’er-do-wells. They’ve sold it to the gun store owner, oblivious to the fact that the man is actually an alien from the Spider Guild. John is hesitant to face the Spider Guild and its agents without the help of the ring, but Hal brazenly approaches the problem as he always has this far — fists first.>It doesn’t go smoothly, but using a combination of teamwork, grit, and sheer ballsy-ness, the two GLs are able to recover John’s power ring from the Guildsman and his henchmen. Both Hal and John walk away from the experience with a newfound respect for one another. Hal realizes that John is a true-blue man of honor rather than a gloryhound, and John develops a new understanding of Hal’s “fearlessness.” He is brave, but that bravery borders on suicidal mania. John seems to both respect and fear this in equal measure.>Reuniting with Sheriff Kerrie, the GLs learn about Alan Scott’s daughter, 17-year-old Jennifer-Lynn Hayden from Wisconsin. Though her father has been dead for days, she suspiciously hasn’t entered the picture. Hal and John think it’s time to pay her a visit. That's it so far.
Couldn't think of a climax or ending, anon?
I really hope this is just your fan fiction OP cause this sounds like hot Garbage

Upon further reflection, I don't think Nori would get right back to being a weird pestering goblin after the final episode anymore. Think she'd try early on, but with everything that's weighing on her (almost twenty years of complete isolation, guilt and shame over misplaced blame for the core collapse and over ghosting her family, body horror, disgust and more shame from aforementioned body horror, losing Yeva and her family while she was gone) she'd almost immediately stop because she's not feeling it anymore, despite her unconvincing insistence that she's fine. Would spend a while being sad (or maybe "just" clingy with her family) and withdrawn outside her family and their associates. The other adult drones would feel slightly guilty over being relieved that Nori's too sad to resume bothering them with her autistic shenanigans.>Lizzy's dad is horrified and practically shitting himself when he realizes Nori's in the vents and it's impossible to keep her out like he could before she was a headcrab... then she pokes out of the vent and sighs.>"Hey Liam," she says, sounding distracted. Her eye isn't focused on anything in particular. "Wanna watch Lucky Star? I'm not in a good place right now."

It genuinely bothers me how every character who uses mind control is an uncreative moron who only uses it to get attack minions or a date. What are some actual creative uses for this power or examples of characters using it intelligently

>>150169405Mind controlling yourself to remove your own limiters. A guy in Hunter Hunter uses something akin to this to make himself basically go super saiyan
I would read a story where an uneducated urban youth gains mind control and telepathy, learns exactly how he is being controlled at every point in his life, then flips it around and uses this new knowledge to become unethically wealthy and powerful. Maybe it could be, like, allegorical, or something, man
>>150169905Pretty much, even if you use them for "good" (i.e. imposing your will on world leaders, for example, forcing them to be peaceful or be less attached to the elites' money), you'll just become a target and die via sniper or car bomb or something

Isn't it interesting how, for the last 20 years, Daredevil runs have followed the same on-and-off trajectory?>first a star writer comes along and writes a modern cult classic run that gets everyone talking about the character and people who haven't read anything pre-Miller start memeing about "no bad runs">followed by a no-name writer who writes a mediocre run that no one reads or talks aboutBendis and Brubaker -> DiggleWaid -> SouleZdarsky -> AhmedThat means the next DD run (whenever that happens) is going to be great again
