Sorry, but I think it's cool and fun when people make Spiderverse OCs or SpidersonasDo you have one?

Why are Americans afraid of making PG-13 animated films?
>>150186598Barely. Shrek made it cool for animated movies to be “edgy” yet safe for kids.
>>150186598To qualify for a G rating, you effectively have to have no conflict or action scenes because even mild peril is enough to upset the ratings board. G is for literal babies.
>>150186598most recent I can find using IMDb search is Apple/Skydance Animation's "Luck" from 2022, but that's only because there's a bunch of other animated films clocking in at under 90 minutes that may have been streaming exclusive. there's no option on here to say "show me only theatrical releases">>150186766next entry after Luck was the first Paw Patrol movie. you posted the sequel, I guess
>>150186547Because animation is expensive and you cut out majority of a films audience by putting a few curses
>>150186598Random documentaries, mostly. The occasional foreign film. Nothing that makes any money. I think Gabby's Dollhouse (the Dreamworks live action and animation hybrid) is the first major motion picture to be rated G in a long, long while.I think the last big movie that was rated G was Cars 3.
We need more western /co/ material.

>>150186633The Live Action Show was alright too. They changed a few things (Tulip's character especially), but nothing that felt like it strayed too far away from the comics and I love they way the show was stylized.
>>150176978It'll never fucking happen, but I would spend money on one or two Jonah Hex vol. 2 compendiums.Everyone says that the run is really good but it doesn't look like it was collected anywhere.

Are the scooby-doo movies that aren't part of the Zombie Island, Cyber Chase and Aliens even worth a rewatch? Like Reluctant werewolf played on Teletoon every year, multiple times, when I was a kid... but I'm not sure if it would even be entertaining now. Same for Ghoul school I guess. /co/ seems t ohave fond memories of them, but I only watched it once as a kid and mostly forgot everything about the movie. I also only ever owned the Scooby-doo in Hollywood cassette as well as the one with the Harlem Globetrotters.
Phanty, Sibella and Winnie performing a rousing rendition of Triple Baka.
>>150181198>>150183238If we talk about originality in design, the alien girl takes the cake, even though she is perhaps much more or just as childish as Tanis. From the rest it seems that they went straight with the known ip iconic monsters films (gojira and monster of black lagoon) and and possibly due to copyright and being just a closing gag, they didn't give more "complication" to the details of the daughters' designs.
>>150185643Yeah, for what it is, it's fine. I'd be more suprised if there were tons of fanart for a character that showed up for a 5-second ending gag
>>150183238These radiate major "we just wanted a gag and didn't put any effort in the designs" energy. The alien in particular has a design that would be a pain for animators to deal with. I know that's supposed to be eyestalks in a helmet but I think turning the whole thing into her head would be a pretty common art mistake in any actual show back then.

Its actually insulting how everyone gets a amazing and at worst slightly worse base design including literal whos like Angela while Adam gets a mcu vision shittification of a design wich the actual MCU didnt even do.

>>150179793Their peak was 2008 but that was when the MCU started. Market share kept going downward till 2014-2015 till it dropped again. It looks like during the MCU's prime, Marvel's market share never reached higher than 2006's sales

The next Velma.I have not seen a single show have as much hyper-ironic spite and pure insecurity since that show.
>>150177263Will hit big numbers due to controversy with a slight decline afterwards due to people still wanting to give it a chance, however the creator and xer crew will start to spite and shit talk everyone who didn't like the pilot and what was a slow decline will accelerate into a speed run to irrelevance as even the people who wanted to give it try despite not seeing the initial appeal are drove off for good.Never mind me im just a schizo noticing patterns, only we can do that!

>>150182053Tarzan was the last truly "good" 2D Disney film. Everything goes downhill from there. I do think if they had followed up Tarzan with a 2D animated John Carter of Mars we could have gotten something special. Instead we got Atlantis as Disney's Steam-Punk film Treasure Planet as Disney's sci-fi send-up which was complete shit.
>>150186784I still really like Emperor's New Groove, and Brother Bear to a degree. Don't hate Home On The Range or Treasure Planet. An Extremely Goofy Movie was fun. And I actually love Bambi 2, though I'm not sure it's a very popular take.My point is, just like with everything else, most everyone seems to agree 90s >>> 2000s, but it still didn't reach the current level where people look at Disney movies and go "Yuck.".

A lot of people are saying Disney could learn from this. People want good vs evil, pretty girls, heterosexual normalcy, good music, and a modern relatable setting. There was zero cussing. The animation was absolutely beautiful. Something both adults & kids can enjoy. It also had obvious Christian theming. Overcoming the lies of anxiety and Satan, overcoming your past, and overcoming evil via sacrifice of self. I also loved that the main characters are females who fight bad guys while staying feminine. The art and music are outstanding and topping the charts.
