I'm gonna guess they didn't return for this new season. Any time a show's animation is suddenly much shittier is not necessarily because the budget is lower, but because they were forced to hire a crappier animation studio. Or even a good one but for whomst the show is a low priority because it's more valuable to animate the newest anime or videogame tie-in.
