As some of you may recall, I posted all of LoTDK a while back, and when I got onto this story arc I soon realised I had to put this in my SoP docket for this year

>>144656547>solid writer and two very good artists How could this possibly go wrong?
>>144656614Let's find out together, shall we?
ngl, I'm kinda mad that they wasted the 150th issue on this, especially when the cover artist is trying so hard
>>144656965Spidey.
>>144656970There's also a Captain America action figure in the toy chest
>>144656547I wouldn't really call this a SoP as much as a product of its times. Dark Age Batman writers were struggling to reconcile the contemporary grimdark edgified Batman with their cartoonish, flanderized, and anachronistic view of Dick's time as Robin. So where Batman's LotDK stories were all very serious and noir, Robin's was an Alice in Wonderland shit.If you look at it like this is Through the Looking-Glass and what Robin Found There, you'd have a good time.
>>144657063Why almost every other comic this guy post not really bad? does he just hate comics?
>>144657081He gets anal about certain things but he does like comics, some of the things he likes are absolute ass though. It's probably just autism.
>>144657111I notice and he has the most typical ass opinions seems like he copying he's Linkara, this just a bit surreal typical over the top Batman and Robin story oh no the villains and set up are weird! so?
>>144657165He can't into nuance, like, at all.
>>144657289People like this ruin comic discussion, it's always the same damn whining points that start in the late 00's. WEIRD BAD 90'S BAD SEXUAL BAD etc etc etc.
>>144657357Not like there isn't the other side. EVERYTHING POST 00s BAD, EVERYTHING POST '10s IS POLITICAL
>>144657524True...talking about comics sucks.
The walls of text are a slog, but is that really it? That makes it storytime of pain material?
>Good art>Sliver Age throwback>Ok writing>Hot villain chickYeah, this ain't painful.
>>144656547Okay, never head of this one before. Got something fresh for this year. Sadly, Border Town wasn't as bad as I remembered. Looking into some other ideas.
>>144657888I know that feel - I was going to post Battle For Bludhaven and Kamandi: At Earth's End, but those were just kinda... bleh.
>>144657929
>>144657963Great page.
>>144657927I'm considering Batman Fortress, but most of it is just fine. Sure I was left wondering what the fuck was that ending, but 8 issues for one bad end doesn't seem worth it. Doesn't help that Read Comics seems to be down/gone so it's harder to find older stuff right now. I only found Border Town thanks to the archive still having the images from the last storytime in 2019.
>>144657963Thanks for the storytime. That wasn't bad at all, actually it was pretty good.
>>144657081Look, it's still the pregame, the real bad stuff starts tomorrow. Things like this happen sometimes. I remember one year someone was going to end in on Spiderman Reign, everyone was down for that, and somehow by the end people were unironically enjoying it and singing lyrics from The Protomen.
>>144658020Post the first volume of Batman '89
