Check out my voxel engine anons. Written in C++ using OpenGL. Infinite world in every direction, including up and down. Not even close to complete yet, but I'm proud of what I've done so far.

Also humor me this, is PND3D a real voxel renderer or not? Can you even explain how it works?
>>
i have an incredibly over engineered tilemap renderer that i don't know what to do with. it supports massive worlds and infinite zoom. zooming in on a single tile reveals yet another tilemap and this can be arbitrarily deep (but just 2 levels for the time being), but wat do with it?

>parrot pretends he doesn't know what he's parroting
Kek. Anyway, if you look at Ken's voxlap page properly, you'll see he refers to the cube-less heightmap rendering technique as a voxel rendering. The guy who came up with the rendering technique behind the game from >>107848290's screenshot also refers to it as voxel rendering. He probably knew his voxels, since apparently he worked on voxel-based medical imaging before making games. Actually, I don't think anyone disagreed it was voxel rendering back when voxel rendering was relevant. Good job drawing attention to the fact that you're a dumb biological chatbot all while trying to one-up someone else.
>>
>>107851743
In what fucking way is it rendering voxels? There is no volumetric data in sight, and the rendered result looks like billboards with no coherent faces.
It's not voxels, no matter what hearsay you hallucinate. Start thinking yourself instead of parring what you heard on discord.

Spent $160 which seems like a lot for headphones, but I've given up on trying to repair HS60's and I those M50X's were only ever borrowed.

Hopefully they'll be good enough for audio production and that the bass won't be too off.

50-100€ ~ 140€ is a stretch that would bankrupt me as a student
>What exactly you're looking for (be as detailed as possible)
Looking for durable headphones for home gaming/music/surfing the web. Probably something I would wear the entire day. Wired. Don't even know if I should take open or closed back because at home it's relatively quiet all day round. I liked closed-back headphones, but I’ve had issues wearing them all day because my ears feel too hot and sealed and I want something breathable and comfortable that I can wear long sessions without it messing up my ears.
>Previous gear and your thoughts on it
ATH-M40x. Very nice, maybe the sound was too tight and closed. Last summer it was pain on my ears. One side of the speakers died so I was gonna buy these again if I don't have a sound advice on why I should pick something else (which I hope in).

I dont need endgame gear, and I dont play on doing any EQ tuning. I do have an audio interface that helps pump up the audio quality but im just going to use the headset for gaming, spotify and discord so im not such an audiophile, just a hpg visitor.

NAT is not something you configure in the BIOS. The firmware has no idea if it's behind NAT or something else entirely, all that it knows is that it sent a screenshot to ime.intel.com and got a 200 OK back.

install fault on HP 15-fd0083wm

I downloaded and created my USB installer drive directly from the Elementary OS website. it works in live mode. when I try to "erase disk and install" it instantly faults and cannot install. id does this even after a clean format. after some searching I tried "custom install" option after using Gparted to format the drive and create partitions (512MB for FAT32 boot) and then the rest as ext4. then when I return to the installer and select "custom install" and select my partitions, the windows overlap in such a way I cannot see, select or confirm anything on the partitions. resizing the primary installer window does nothing. additionally, I only seem able to select the 512MB FAT32 partition, and have been unable to select the larger partition.

apparently there is/are known issues with the installer on some computers. my craptop has an UFS SSD which is also probably an issue. something about recognition? I've read so much shit it's all starting to run together in my brain.

I got Mint XFCE installed and running on it last night. that also took some finesse, again, I believe, because of the UFS. after several terminal entries in Live, i was able to get it running normally. despite that, I would prefer to run Elementary if at all possible. I have tried forums, GIThub threads and Grok to assess, diagnose and mitigate. still no joy. This is my second Linux install ever and I am not a "computer guy" by any stretch.

this computer has a nearly identical origin story to the last one I posted aboot here. it was left behind when a tenant moved out of an apartment presumably because of a bad battery. I got a free battery from Amazon Vine, and was able to get it to boot. being that it is 8 years newer than my Stream 11-Y010, faster and more storage, in dont *need* to run the bare bones Mint XFCE. I would like something a bit more modern and stylish, ie: Elementary 8.1

What say you Anon?

How come C# isn't more popular when it's basically Java but better? Is it because people distrust a language maintained by Microsoft, or does the JVM have non-obvious but crucial advantages over the CLR?

What specifically about it was so bad?
>>
>>107834144
>java but better
language-feature-wise it's indeed better but the java ecosystem is way larger thanks to its community
>>
>>107834144
Its very popular. From shitty gamedevs to corposhit tier wagie jobs.
Java only really had the benefit of being better at cross platform for longer. Most codebases that were made on Java (of which there are many) will forever remain on Java.

>>107834144
java is faster, has better documentation, and changes very infrequently. it also has better performance parity on different platforms. net.core still runs like dogshit on windows compared to linux.
