Switched to Ubuntu 25.10 a week ago, everything worked perfectly until a new update destroyed directx12 and 11 vulkan layer thingy. Too lazy to troubleshoot so I just moved to Linux Mint and everything works even better.

The thing is, Mint is so. fucking. boring. I feel bad because it truly just works and has never treated me bad but I kinda want something more, idk, interesting

sudo apt install gddrescue
sudo pacman -S gddrescue

It's called GNU ddrescue or something. Once you install that package it includes the ddrescue CLI program.

>>107612475
True. I use i3wm and was too lazy to find out how to easily make two windows side-by-side each taking up half the screen. Split tabs make it easy as it's built into the web browser.

>>107612414
I'd also like to know what "disk freezing" / "HDD freezing" is. I imagine that the spinning disk RPM becomes very slow or temporarily stops.

Do racist, anti trans, alt right and MAGA actually contribute to FOSS in a valuable way, or do they just shitpost about how much they despise the deemed outgroups (trans, Indians, blacks)?

most chuds fall into three categories
>psychopathic rich upper class chad, lived life on easy mode, isnt happy despite being handsome, fit, rich, succesful with women, constantly wants to bully others and dominate people and never feels happy, high iq and high fitness, low eq
>brutechud, goes to gym and becomes gymcel, likely to act as a wigger, very fit and physically strong but a complete retard that works a dead end job or lucks out being a influencer or fucking milfs from rich betabuxxers while giving them yoga lessons, low eq, low iq, high fit
>incelchud, low eq, low iq, low fit. dropout, loser, deadend job or neet, contributes nothing to the world except shitposts and blackpills, is most likely to in a few years become a tranny/groomer and be a proud lgbt leftist folx
all three have no reason to be in foss or contribute, third one is very likely to be in foss and contribute but only after egg/mind cracking
>>
>>107607586
I disagree, your average chud can actually do things out of self interest, they are simply not good with computers, mostly because their environment sees them as something much less relevant than they really are. They are usually also those kind of people who always prefer to take the path of the least resistance without thinking too much about it, which is normally not a bad thing, but in terms of computers, especially in regards to things like operational security, this is not always correct approach and can sometimes cause fatal consequences to people following it. They also tend to oversimplify things and compare modern technology to something we already had hundrends (if not thousands) of years ago, needless to say that this is often a mistake.

most modern games are built to function with it and without it don't render properly as shown by how they all look like fucking dogshit without it and 1440p is the resolution that makes that worse and makes dlss/dlaa necessary to begin with

Posting a problem and solution I had for posterity
Cloudflare challenges/captchas were not loading/working on my firefox browser. It turned out that my "Disable Javascript" extension was blocking Cloudflare's iframe from executing. The solution was to add 'challenges.cloudflare.com' to the extension's exception list.
Firefox's troubleshooting mode was somewhat helpful in narrowing down the cause.

tried it to get a linux kernel module to install it didn't work. Copilot, Grok, gpt and gemini weren't better. Solution was that the distro downloads src and obj dir you just had to copy a couple files from the obj dir over to src dir and then it works without problems. Thats not written down anywhere however so it never understood it. So far I have found only google's search to be somewhat helpful because it doesn't spam you with words.

>Is there any argument against buying headphones with detachable cables?
Not really, mr 90s anon. You can mod most headphones to have detachable cables but there's no reason to buy models that don't have those by default since that has been the standard for decent headphones for many years outside of some cheaper electrostats, maybe. When even $5 chinkshit has detachable cables there's really no excuse to not have those unless the manufacturer is jewmaxxing. And yeah, most issues in my experience are usually due to the cable or the connectors being damaged. Cables are easily replaceable, connectors can be resoldered most of the time.

Why use a terminal on macOS? You don't even get repositories/secure storage for your terminal apps with brew/homebrew.

As like a GUI Linux/Windows replacement, yeah it's pretty good.
The time tracking feature leads to a reliant indicator to know how much time you put in working.
