The security intelligence updates are for Microsoft Defender so can't we just use an antivirus software as a substitute to them? Windows 11 was built of its predecessor meaning much of its codebase is the same so it's safe to say that security intelligence constructed by these cybersecurity companies should apply to W10/11 interchangeably. At least for the most part.

What really matters is protection against malware that would infect the motherboard's firmware.

I know that is probably a stupid question to any real programmer but it does sound plausible.

"switching to linux" if it ever happens, won't be something you'll be forced to do or something you'll have to worry about. When windows becomes unusable and the perfect linux alternative exists, everything the masses need to be comfortable would already be integrated within the perfect distro long before windows loses 50% of market share

Whatever data set they used was likely just composed of user and assistant turns with thinking traces. That wouldn't necessarily mean it would have the tool calling text since I'm pretty sure Claude code would jump through hoops to make sure that is hidden from the user (which is probably one of the main reasons why they banned use of their API models from being used on anything but their in-house software)

why the fuck would anyone ever use this? from what i can tell (and correct me if i am wrong), you can send - at best - a couple ints of data.... ???
literally why would you ever want this? i guess maybe if it's really high speed, it could be useful for certain operations? but like god.... i just can't fathom who's using this

>i guess maybe if it's really high speed, it could be useful for certain operations?
I actually doubt sending signals is faster than other types of IPC, since as you noted, nobody uses them for high speed communication, so they never got optimized for that
>you can send - at best - a couple ints of data.... ??? literally why would you ever want this?
I suspect this was added before we got proper message queues. An int is still more than enough to send an internal opcode
>>
sucking syscall anon's cock with my butthole
>>
>>108499459
there's a syscall instruction and they should be at fixed memory addresses for a given kernel version
and on windows, since it has a proper stable kernel ABI parts of its kernel interface are exported from its binaries, iirc both ntoskrnl.exe and ntdll.dll export the main subset but random shared libraries export other parts of the NT API, you can tell because NT API functions are formatted slightly differently to Win32 API functions (SubsystemFunctionName vs FunctionName)

I always get the feeling that most of you haven’t even used a Mac for once because you are all narrow-minded onions boys. I use an M1 Pro since release. Performance-wise, it’s great, the battery is great, and the keyboard is great. I even prefer it to my mechanical keyboard if I have to type really fast. Don’t get me wrong, the locked-down OS really sucks, and macOS gets worse with every update in my opinion. That’s why I bought a desktop to tinker with Linux, but most of you opinionated fucks don’t get it and start bitching about Mac as soon as they see an Apple logo. Really herd-minded way to live.

you are shilling a product for people with more money and disposable income on average. they dont give a shit about efficiency because they got electrical sockets they dont live in huts in the woods on solar panels. also they dont give a shit about portable performance because they got workstations and H100 hardware at home.

you are trying to fill a niche nobody needs. just make useful UI and apps and shut the fuck up.

Anyone here tried using non-native digital audio workstations like Ableton Live through wine or whatever on Linux? Does it suck? So far I've found good replacements for Adobe products on Linux and all my favorite games seem to run very well on Linux these days but music production is literally the only thing still holding me back from switching to it on my main PC. Even if I switched to using Reaper or Bitwig I'm concerned that I won't get all my external hardware working including my Focusrite sound card and certain vst plugins that require licensing with iLok.
