Some of you should join once the site comes online in a day or two, see if you like it. Having more smart people in there would be beneficial. If you're a noob and unsure about your OPSEC then don't bother, but if you know what you're doing and always use Whonix, etc. you'll be fine.

I wonder what will Basiliskfags do when the ASI turns out to be AM instead of Basilisk and decides to torture it’s creators specifically.
>>
>>107566189
I don't get the arguments surrounding basilisk
if you're afraid basilisk will bite you in the butt then simply write it not to bite you, or simply don't write it at all
it's just a computer program that you design anyway, it will not do something against what you didn't tell it to do
>>
>>107567087
This kind of thinking would work back in 2019, but we had 3 years of everyone being exposed to LLMs. You don’t actually have control over LLMs, you don’t have control over any AI for a matter of fact (machine learning). You just feed it data and hope it does what you want it to do. It’s regular problem that was happening for many decades that you trained AI to detect causation, but it detected correlation instead, if you train it on pictures of people with bone cancer, it will instead learn to detect the scanner artefacts of the most popular scanner used for severe bone tumor detection, for example. Elon’s chatbot started one day out of nowhere leaping as mechs hitter for no reason and you could make old versions of ChatGPT say anything censored if you asked it to pretend to be Dan.

You could use it for cold storage as another anon mentioned--family photos, password manager database, 4chan maymays, Japanese animes, etc--as well as using an image on the disc as a keyfile.

However, the only usecase I actually find myself using is just to burn mixes onto them. I like burning them to give to friends.

I prefer to have a disc drive (for the aforementioned use case) and (micro)SD card slot since the latter is sometime required in the process of jailbreaking handheld consoles.

PBT can't so the super saturated colours well, no, but there's no reason why PBT can't be as accurate as ABS with the less saturated colours. NovelKeys PBT Copper being a great example. It's identical to the GMK version. I own both, so can attest to that. Yet with sets like Mecha-01 or Laser, then no, you will never get those neon type colours with PBT, which is why all PBT Laser clones look terrible... again, until you see the real thing you wouldn't realise, as most shots of GMK Laser you see on line just don't do that neon red justice at all. It's usually out of gamut for most cameras. That ended the great PBT experiment and now everyone makes ABS caps.

Do you use light or a dark theme in your software, /g/?
I've been trying to get used to light themes because I lowkey think they look nicer but damn do they rape my eyes.
30 replies and 4 images omitted. Click here to view.
>>
>>107564648
I've been using it for 20 years. It all started with a theme I created myself for jEdit. Actually it started before that with taking notes on yellow legal pads.
>>
>>107561975
Light, for most part.
Only use dark themes when I really need dark themes: basically at night on my car navigation.
Save for that, everything else is light/white mode. Even my terminal windows.

Not entire sure about dark themes being "worse for the eyes", and while I never really like how they looked anyway, more importantly Light simply doesn't fit my use case as I'm usually in a well lit room and usually dealing with not just code and terminals, but also documents supposed to be printed on white paper or media with bright colors. I know I can "force" darkmode on almost everything digital, like word documents and websites, they tend to look like shit.
If all I did was coding on a terminal on a dark basement, then dark mode would be fine.
>>
>>107561975

For phones, I always use dark mode.
For desktops/laptops, mostly light mode, but the browser home page and gimp use dark mode. Apps like discord also dark mode. Dark mode for classic GTK apps looks terrible imo.

Personally the only way I can use Deepseek is with cards that are meant to make up the characters on the spot.
If you get a character card, the bot will not act like it's supposed to do and it gets obvious how retarded Deepseek is. But with narrator cards you have no expectations and you can let Deepseek do its own thing.

TBW is the most important factor for an nvme. The more you write data on it the less life it has. If you're not a content creator or not rendering videos every single day / moving very big files you have nothing to worry about. I have a sk hynix 512 gb, 91% on crystal disk info after 7-8 years. It will last another 8 years before needing to change

I learned this the hard way. STAR method is bullshit. Tell a story.
>>
Also, I wanna ask, if people grill you on super specific questions, you answer them, they say you are wrong, and you open the code editor and quickly give them an example and they go like “oh but this is what you meant and yeah, you’re right”, and then they ask at the end if “are you okay with pressure? How do you handle that?” in a technical interview, is it a red flag?

I don’t know if I like the guy or not, am thinking of rejecting the offer, but I liked the behavioral interview, its just the “tech manager” dude felt like an ass.
>>
>>107566923
Certain managers love digging into random questions. I had a technical interview last 90 minutes. Most people fail if their interview ends in 20 mins since they failed to handle easy questions. It all varies wildly. Amazon for example is 3 seprate interviews that total 5 hours. Not including the are you some bot application or are you alive questions for the first one.

Anything you put on your resume will be grilled on so be wary of putting less knowledgeable stuff on there.

>>107566524

Hilariously, that kills Windows, most of mainstream Linux distros, 75% of current-day gaming and any intense editing work.

No they don't. I work for a hybrid wft company that issues project managers, laptops and everyone else a desktop tower setup. Oath only top out at like 8 gigs of RAM. All of our work is done on accompanying websites through a in-house VPN, so unless your job involves 3D modeling software or you do a lot of content creation, no corporate it team what even consider upgrading the ram of any of those computers. How what they justify that when Windows technically runs fine on 8 GB? You're probably thinking of those " Day in the life of xzy" TikTokers that are issued hardware that is way more powerful than they need or deserve like a high-end MacBook or something like pic rel

The mini series is the only type of computer HP makes that isn't total garbage. Gen on gen they're the most consistent across lenovo and dell. Dell sometimes git gud, Dell does okay on the low end sometimes, lenovo suck on light models but HP consistently have good barebones & elite / 800 series mini PC's. Their mid range is kinda mediocre in comparison desu, but usually still on par with lenovo or dell.

Their SFF, tower and laptops are garbage though.
Their proper workstations are like a 60/40 ratio of good depending on chassis/motherboard design again, scaling better at the top end.

Chassis is what makes or breaks dell, along with the stupid PSU, but their mini PCs have none of that shit.
