FAQ:
>How do I activate Windows?
HWID2 generates and registers a permanent legitimate license on MS's activation servers
github.com/massgravel/Microsoft-Activation-Scripts
Usage: paste this into Powershell, run.
irm https://get.activated.win | iex

>and Office?
Same link, select Ohook option
You can also use Office.com if your needs are very minimal
or try OnlyOffice/LibreOffice and set it to save in MSOffice file formats

>What version should I install?
>W10 Enterprise IoT LTSC 2021
Binary identical to Enterprise except no MS Store or apps
Preinstalled with: Edge & Win32 system apps

I obviously have read OP and I also checked massgravel commits and their website. Nothing out of ordinary, but from the little I know: microsoft has been suddenly fighting against "illegal" activation methods, just wondering if anyone knows if that could affect massgravel at some point.
>>
>>107800819
Why does /fwt/ get the nice anime OP pics but /fglt/ get ugly OP pics?
>>
>>107850853
Basically what it does is send the ID of the computer plus its current installed edition to MS's activation servers and gets them to add the ID to the activation server no strings attached. So if you switch over to 10 Enterprise or whatever and run the HWID, it'll activate fine. It's not like MS can stop it either because it looks so legit.
>>
>>107850931
>microsoft has been suddenly fighting against "illegal" activation methods
microsoft has been retiring many outdated components and one of those components was exploited by outdated offline activation method.
did microsoft retire it only because of activation exploit? nobody knows but most likely not.
>>
>>107850957
>send the ID of the computer plus its current installed edition to MS's activation servers and gets them to add the ID to the activation server no strings attached
Yeah but I'm talking about a fresh laptop here, no prior activations. So isn't it quite obvious that microsoft could just start blocking new registrations on their servers? Up until this point I've assumed they simply don't care and wouldn't want to cause angry hordes by blocking it.

Zoomer here. I heard from my teacher today that phones used to have a slot like the sim card one where you could put in those digital camera memory sd cards in it. Why did no one complain when this happened?

A lot of budget phones (and some high end) still have an SD card slot and even a headphone jack. It's up to the consumer to buy these models if they find it important, which many people obviously don't.

I remember seeing this on the Discovery channel 20 years ago. They even built a prototype to prove it worked. Sad that we've started falling so far behind that China is the one actually implementing new technology like this first.

It's speakers. It's paper/kevlar cone and a magnet. In actives there might be the need to replace capacitors but that's about it. I use B&W speakers from 1997 and it's still pretty good.

I am flying to Tokyo tomorrow and want to try my luck with finding a gpu in akihabara, either new or used. Anyone tried this or know anything about it? Which stores to try? Is it futile?

What if AI won’t be able to advance much further beyond what it is now do to the astronomical resource consumption? What if we just run out of the shit that keeps it going? What then?

I looked up the water consumption by AI and 80% of the water in California is being used on livestock so I don't know why people are shitting their pants over AI water usage.

Using old and insecure proprietary firmware baked into your hardware components doesn't make you any more free than loading newer firmware into those components through your OS.

Its just a stallman cope so he can pretend the software doesn't exist so he doesn't look like a giant hypocrite when using any computer (which he is).

Irrelevant finding because no one does this. Models continue to get smarter since that article was published a year and a half ago despite using synthetic data.

GPT sped it up, but it was already declining.
>>
>>107850115
the current world we live in is the result of an AI running out of real input data: it's a simulation where we are made to endure various hardships so that the AI can learn from how we solved our problems.

The ancient Gnostics said that the demiurge is powerful but demented. That's because the demiurge is just ChatGPT on crack.
>>
>>107850254
You can clearly see it started to go downhill when the moderation became compoundingly more retarded. AI just sped it up a little.
>>
Consider the possibility that every programming question that someone else could reasonably have an answer for has already been asked. I mean that's over 50 million questions there. You don't need to ask a new question when it's already the top google result.

It's really not... I'm going Threadripper on my next build for more flexibility (cores, PCIE lanes, etc). Consumer hardware has plateaued and they're really not gonna give us more than a few little speedups going forward.

If you just browse and do your homework my PC would be more than enough, but when it comes to total compute it's falling behind fast... hell, even my high-end 4090 feels like the minimum spec these days with new games running like ass without DLSS maxed out (~240p to 4K).
