Fellow tech bros how the fuck do you meet the ladies once you've got your life setup. The apps suck. "Singles events" suck. My friends have nobody for me. I do yoga with a lot of attractive women, but that's not a good space for it.

Some jobs won't be able to be automated with AI, because AI is not intelligent and not intuitive only humans can do that

AI just regurgitates what is put into it

Go along with the insanity and tell the other managers they're smart for doing the right thing with AI no matter what they're doing with AI. Being a brown nosing simp is the only way to get ahead in the corporate world of today (unless you want to lop off your genitals).

AI, zoom and enhance her chats in the top left corner...

Yes, I know this is the place where everybody loves to rice and have complete control over their system, but unlike some people who use Linux, I actually have a job and things I need to do.

I have been daily driving Linux, and it is very good, but I was wondering if it is possible to still have a good understanding of Linux systems on what some may call a “normie” distro like Ubuntu. Do I really need to use something like Arch or Gentoo to learn Linux? And if I do use Arch or Gentoo, am I even really learning Linux? It kind of seems I would learn more about the package manager and whatever other stuff it uses instead of actually learning Linux systems.

>learn linux
what do people always mean by this?
what is there to learn? it functions like every other OS, you have folders and other shit like on windows and macOS.
>>
>>108502677
Yes. There's nothing wrong with using an easy distro because you always have the option to dive deeper. In fact if you do complicated things you likely will be required to dive deeper. The sort of things that on windows would require editing something in their god-forsaken registry to even have permission to touch.
>>
>>108502677
The day of the linux will be be. Make your own OS like Terry Davis or just accept windows.
>>
Alright, keeping Ubuntu but installing Slackware on a virtual machine. Going to be using it for a few days. If it works well, I might consider putting Slackware on bare metal, but Ubuntu just works, so I think it might be best just to keep Slackware on the VM.

I was able to fix some of the problems it had, but I think I need to reinstall Slackware because a few things are odd.
>>
>>108503731
Yep. Eventually you figure out how to fix issues without re-installing. You could install multiple vm's, set up ssh servers on them. Put them on a vlan by putting them on a bridge instead of NAT, and then they can talk to each other. Read manpages, wiki guides, and configure software. Learn how to use xdg-mime, for example.

Why don't we make an OS from scratch with no Unix and no (minimal) legacy bloat?

What would be the best architecture for this modern OS?

>-single level store
interseting feature
>-memory mapped ipc
you mean that the virtual memory manager is a process and not part of the microkernel?
>-graph database file system
damn straight
>object store
what's that?
>>
>>108503555
an object store is like a flat filesystem where you dump everything with associated UUIDs. there's no structure to it inherently which allows you to build different filesystem structures on top of it because metadata is stored in the same way as data
>>
>>108503594
so the mass storage is manage like one big heap by some allocators but instead of pointers you have UUIDs?
but how do you find the location of objects by their UUIDs, is there a huge hashtable/binary tree or something?
and what's the granularity of objects that have a UUID? only filesystem-like object have one? files and directories? file chunks?
>>
>>108503696
>but how do you find the location of objects by their UUIDs, is there a huge hashtable/binary tree or something?
i'm sure the implementation varies but some sort of lookup table
>and what's the granularity of objects that have a UUID? only filesystem-like object have one? files and directories? file chunks?
anything. the point is it doesn't matter to the store what is stored in it so the meaning of each object is completely up to a higher level filesystem stored on top of it. obviously there are performance implications to how you divide things up.

Never saw any proof of that. During the trial the evidence I saw was that nearly ~18 year old girls were voluntarily going there to fuck old men for money and to ride yachts and enjoy the mansion. They then decided after the fact that it was rape.

Not only that, but some of them in fact worked for Epstein as pimps. Since they are women, they would advice other women to travel there. And some of them ended up being assaulted by stephen hawking and bill gates and what not. The last bit, I'm not sure if it's a joke or not. Really hard to tell.

Why can’t I just power my phone with my body? I eat way more food than I need to, why can’t the excess calories charge my phone?

Compare the efficiency of a human body vs an electric motor. I'll wait.
>>
>>108496884
Same way you can't power your body through an electric outlet. The body transforms chemical energy (as in organic (carbon based) compounds) into make ATP, which is then used to power everything. Action potentials are the closest things to actual electricity that we produce, however it's so weak and the body has 0 way to store it. It's possible though, look into the biology of electric eels. Your excess calories can still charge your phone through kinetic energy, i.e get some exercise, but it's not that efficient

If you just want a work mouse you can carry around, the thumb style wireless ones are the best. They are small and you can use them anywhere. They are a thousand times better than being a hunched over trackpad cuck.
If you want a gaming mouse then just buy a gaming mouse. I have seen pros of many games play with the most cursed setups and inputs ever yet I've never seen any that use a trackball mouse. I doubt they are the ideal tool for games.

EVER. That's not even up for debate. Plain simple fact.
Doesn't matter if it is gaming, 3D modelling or general use. You will always be slower using shitty thumb-balls.
Not a serious input device. On the same level as phone keyboards.

This is probably my third or forth trackball purchase in a decade, first time I've found a wired clone and at about half the price. the reign of the m570 is ended.

The only really good local LLM setup I've heard of is dual 3090. No bs nvidia bridge, just them talking over PCIe.
It's not like they compare to Claude, not even close. But that is the real usable bare minimum. The kind you would love to have around when the world ends but you somehow have electricity and are not dead yet.
