what is the relationship between CPU and GPU for gaming? i have a i9-14900kf that is causing problems with bsod when gaming, i have no issues when i reduce max cores to 4 cores for some games or 8 cores for other games. will reducing processing ability cause textures and stuff to take longer to load which would cause me to drop frames? or does the GPU handle all that?

>>107666653It's probably discharging more than it's in-taking, so turn it off and let it charge, then use it to discharge. Otherwise the battery life goes to shit.
>>107667013This is malfunctioning hardware. Either driver race condition disappearing with smaller thread count, bad PSU, memory, or CPU, pretty much in that order.
>>107668436underclocking all the cores from 57 to 55 has fixed it so far

Was it the biggest mistake of nvidia?Nobody bought new cards for many years, and some still use it even now.
Zoom zoom broccoli heads are too young to know Nvidia's only real fuck up. After this, was the one and only time ATI/AMD had the marketshare over Nvidia because people were so fucked off about the FX series. The one time they slipped.
>>107667798Nobody remembers how big of a turd the GeforceFX was. Nvidia even clowned on themselves over it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-BUvTomA7M
>>107668430I miss the old tech companies so much bros. Remember the days when Nvidia would hire out a stripper?

>>107667259Tera is metric SI prefix and the drive has 2 000 000 000 000 bytes. It is accurate. It's your OS showing you values divided by 1024 that is wrong. IIRC macs had this fixed years ago.The funny thing is, everyone who learned computing knows of this so it should surprise nobody. The even funnier thing is seeing Amazon 1 star reports on large HDDs that go like "I ordered a 20TB drive but it shows up as a 18TB one, returned it, never buying from this vendor again."
>>107667285>Tera is metricSo it's the fault of the euros again
>>107667259Because you don't know difference between TeraByte and TibiByte
>>107667311>It's the fault of the euros that computers don't work in base 10It's the fault of Microsoft for showing you TiB values with a TB suffix. It's your fault for being so fucking computer illiterate to not know this.Fuck I hate this board.

>>107617634>>gives a bunch of retarded normie shit reasons that have fucking nothing to do with technologyIt seems they had legit reasons to like macos more than linux.
>>107661514Airdrop is somewhere between "doesn't work" and "pain to set up" on non macOS systems, and it's by far the easiest way to transfer stuff between a computer and an iPhone. Apple's proprietary integration stuff like texting and handing off calls between the phone and Mac are also not really replicated on other OSes. Microsoft's Android linker app, Samsung Dex, Motorola SmartConnect, and the Linux Bluetooth stack being able to act as a headset replicate parts of it and in more standard and less locked down ways, but it's still not as smooth and complete an experience as the integration between Apple devices.
>>107626446>imagine being at computers>so fat you look and see food>>107637163Undoubtedly still insufferable.
>>107662366Ah I was rather thinking of the arguments for Linux

so my 2021 ipad pro battery drains real fast and I barely used the thing for anything other than web browsing and instagram (some procreate and sculpting here and there, but not anything I'd call overuse.)I hear a battery replacement is really just them transferring your data onto a refurb. Has anyone done this? is it fine or a dumb move? Other than the battery, I babied the fuck out of my device, I don't want to get one where someone was gunning it with genshin impact or fortnite for 1000 hours and the cpu/gpu are heat degraded as fuck

A few of you may have discovered today that thumbnails suddenly stopped loading in Firefox. I did.Checking the browser console, I found errors for each thumbnail in the catalog which said "A resource is blocked by OpaqueResponseBlocking, please check browser console for details."After disabling browser.opaqueResponseBlocking in about:config, those error messages turned into 403's and the images would still not load.I did a desuarchive search for Firefox and found a post in /trash/ saying "I figured it out. 4chan is now asking for referrers when requesting images from 4cdn... TL:DR; 4chan wants to know where you were before loading an image." along with a screenshot of all about:config settings with the word "referer" in them. With the help of that screenshot, I pinpointed the issue to network.http.referer.XOriginPolicy in about:config, which I had set to 2 for whatever reason, I don't know. Setting it to 0 fixed the problem. Most of you on Firefox probably won't experience this since 0 is the default setting. So, for those of you also experiencing this issue, there's the fix, and now the fix is on desuarchive for others to find.Feel free to discuss the technological/privacy ramifications of this change by 4chan, or if the /trash/ poster's analysis is correct.
