>>107859572then I don't see which problem is even solved by flatpaks
>>107859587>>107856637>Make no mistake: Flatpak is not meant to be easier for end-users, but for developers distributing their software. And these developers keep giving stupid advice to noobs because they're too autistic to get into the mindset of non-developers.
>>107859587>i want to use this specific version of a software, forever>i want to use this software on my small hobby distro with no packages>i want to distribute proprietary softwareThe only place it's a substitute for normal software distribution is on atomic distros, and that's a whole other breed of mental illness. Even then they're building against their own distro libraries, not using random packages from flathub.
Did anything ever come out of the xyz utils shit?
>>107859606Flatpak just confuses me because it’s pretty much inferior in every way to just installing a program off apt or the AUR or just downloading a deb. Basic functionality is broken because of the sandboxing permameters requiring me to use othe programs to get it to work. Steam will fuck up if you have a separate drive for your games so you have to use flatseal and mess around with it, discord breaks a bunch of features, and of course everything runs slow as shit. It also completely breaks launch on startup commands forcing me to manually add them to my startup list. The only scenario where flatpak feels convienent is just the self contained aspect but like…who cares? I’m not losing sleep over having to download a bunch of depdendencies, it takes a few seconds at most.
I know everyone loves to shit on StackOverflow, but what happens when we move on to new languages and there's no site for providing training data to LLMs?

Work in the government and the people we get our computers from are taking them back and we are trying to get extensions on them but nobody thinks they'll approve it.We have no replacements coming in the pipe and even if we do we'll have to wait a month.Worst that can happen is that our job is us literally just sitting down in an office with no computers for a month. It'll be interesting.

>>107852956That issue will solve itself in a matter of years if Microsoft continue being that retarded.
>>107852109Because they are trying to win the race they already lost only 1.2% of all AI usage use Copilot(Microsoft AI) rest is using different. Also AI currently have shit ton of problems like energy usage, it hell when it comes to resource consumption, etc... unless they find some better algorithms and solve problems around it it's going to pop.
>>107852109>What's their endgame?Doing their small part to destroy personal computing. They'll wreck their consumer lines but that doesn't matter because the US government can't function without them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrPU5_lBWX4
how can AI solve this issue once the internet is 99% slop? just training on closed sources? which sources?
offline sources like encyclopedia britannica. they currently make way more money from ai companies than from sales
>>107859897>which sources?Human creativity. Poor starving artists with an idea and a compulsion to express themselves will always exist as long as there are people. Their works will feed into into the collective system and contribute to shaping the collective consciousness, just as it has always been. Also AI will eventually be able to demonstrate the same creativity, which will mutate and evolve the collective consciousness.(you) may not like what it turns into, but essentially the same process is what has shaped the society and world you live in today.
