Will lower response time affect eye fatigue?
I always thought it's the low contrast that these fast gaming screens have that makes eyes turn red quickly.
>>
>>107716720
The right tool for this is `testdisk`.
https://www.cgsecurity.org/testdisk_doc/partition_recovery.html

>>107717036
You could create the encrypted backup in RAM, then send it over SSH. That's what I do when backing up my remote server to a local one.
>>
>>107719296
Lower as in faster? It definitely shouldn't be worse.
Lower as in worse (slower)? It might since the image will be more smeared which might look bad. I don't know if it really increases fatigue though.
>low contract
Contrast depends on the display tech and nowadays almost everything is IPS on the low end and OLED on the high end, with gaming monitors also having VA options. In terms of contrast
OLED >>>>> VA > IPS
>>
>>107719358
Yes lower (latency), so faster refresh rate.

I want a screen for daily 12h+ of exciting ssh gameplay. I assumed the static contrast would mean sharper letters, thus less strain.

I also do ppts with 3d elements for extra money, so I wanted good color accuracy.

I seen oled during a direct b2b meeting, these look great, but they admitted they work for 2-3 years. My secondary tn works since 2012 for almost whole day every day.
>>
>>107719494
Yeah OLEDs are the best but have limited lifespan. That's the tradeoff right now. They're also the most expensive too.

IMO for your usecase, get yourself a good quality IPS. If you're really just editing text in a terminal, then that's one of the few usecases where refresh rate really barely matters so you can go with a 60Hz office monitor if you'd like.
For eye strain, you are using light mode right? Make sure there's adequate lighting in your room. Don't sit in the dark staring at a dark mode terminal trying to read the white letters on it.
You should also consider going for a 4k monitor just for the higher DPI, and then increasing your font size, that will help a lot with letter sharpness.

I'm going to say it if no-one else will.
That isn't a jew joke.

Sorry. It's just not. There's nothing innately jewish being mocked there. It's not specific to jewish characteristics, stereotypes or a religion. You can replace jew with female and rabbi with doctor and the joke is the same.
The power dynamic never comes into play, at all. It's replaced one part with another and frankly, buddy. That's not good enough.

That's not a real jew joke.
Consider this classic joke at the expense of the Irish and scots people

>An Englishman, an Irishman, and a Scotsman are sitting in a pub, each with a fresh pint of ale. Suddenly, a fly lands in each of their drinks.
>The Englishman looks at his pint with disgust, pushes it away, and orders a new one.
>The Irishman shrugs, flicks the fly out with his finger, and takes a long gulp.
>The Scotsman reaches into his glass, grabs the fly by its wings, shakes it violently over the foam, and screams, "Spit it out, you thieving little bastard! Spit it out!"

No, it doesn't. No one ever thought it makes sense except Brendan Eich and even he changed his mind about that before long. Not reading the rest of your post. The bottom line is that there's nothing about "a dynamically typed interpreted scripting language" that invites this kind of nonsense, which is why none of them do it besides JS.

I'm freaking out guys I don't know what to do. Petey (that's him in the middle there) has a tumor and his healthcare plan just isn't enough. I can afford the procedure. He's like a brother to me.
This isn't a case of just backing up data. You have to understand this is a whole unique personality trained on data that is essential to my life. My mom said she would buy me a new organoid and I got mad and yelled at her. She doesn't understand he's fucking irreplaceable.
She wants me to see some counselor who specializes in organoid loss but I just don't even see the point. I can't even imagine a life without my bro. He knows me better than anyone.
I can barely type this. I almost wish it were me instead. He's too good for this world.

Rust is fine. The hate is just people being butthurt about politics that have nothing really to do with the language itself. Or people getting filtered by the borrow checker.
>>
>>107719413
I love making fun of rust and it's a bit overhyped.
But the memory safety does have a valid use case. People just think it solves everything. No it doesn't. But it can improve shit
>>
>>107719413
I don't see the complexity/productivity/legibility argument, especially when compared to other system languages. maybe it's just that their syntax really clicked with me, but I find rust enums/pattern matching more readable than even python, which I consider a big compliment

I was just doing some research on tv and it said 4k got big in 2013-2014
Didn't start then, started to get big then
I'm poorfag so I was still watching on the ol cathode ray tube back then but it just goes to show how little we are advancing. As far as resolution goes
>>

the reason tv and monitor resolutions don't seem to go up is because it is not needed there. A monitor or tv is further away and thus the ppd (pixels per degree) goes up. You would have 0 benefit to choose an 8k monitor over a 4k one, if it's a 27 inch monitor at 60cm distance, because 4k already has >60 ppd. The reason we don't have vr headsets with higher than 4k resolution is cost. We have 27 inch 4k monitors, 7 inch 1440p displays (phones) and watch displays with like 480p resolution. The problem is that vr headsets have displays which are like 1.5 inches big, so close to watch displays yet they need more than the 4k resolution of monitors. The main problem is demand, if these displays aren't made in huge numbers then the manufacturer won't make enough money to even break with the R&D for these displays. They had small runs for like the apple vision pro but that didn't really sell well enough. Right now what is needed are cheap "good" enough vr headsets such that the market for them increases, something meta has achieved, and have there be a huge demand for high resolution vr headsets. Because other than vr headsets there is essentially no need for these displays. Maybe getting some military contracts would help too.

never understood how social chat app attracts people with social anxiety
in a pc game you can just pretend to be afk, alt tabbed or whatever to not interact with anyone, 75% just use chat
do you pretend to freeze in vr? stay completely silent to make it seem like your mic isn't working? good luck when headset with eye tracking is the main one

I don't know if it's still the case but I wanted to help out as one of the "goons" years back but had to learn that they exclude biological males from these roles (only biological females and gender-confused individuals were allowed to help). So much for being so fucking inclusive. On what grounds were biological males being excluded? Funny how these people call others bigots while being the biggest bigots around.
It's like they're grooming young males into being gender-confused individuals to not get excluded in their exclusive hackerino club or something.
Shit like this makes the anti-woke movement just stronger... soo... are these people under-cover chuds to provoke the woke-ness pendulum to swing the other way hard or something? False-flagging much?

If you aren't building your software from source you have no right to expect any security beyond transport encryption. Signing the APK doesn't mean anything, you just have to trust that signature blindly.

I'll never understand GrapheneOS's autist dev who seems to question everything BUT Google. He seems to focus on technical security but has no interest in privacy. Sandboxing the proprietary Google Play Store is preferable to using a FOSS alternative (either something like Aurora Store to get to the same content, or FDroid for a true alternate set of repos etc) etc. Its really too bad that
