If you use the GNU Image Manipulation Program, there is something wrong with you mentally.

It is the only thing preventing me from using a Linux-based OS on a permanent basis. I need Photoshop to work and WINE is buggy as shit. The GIMP is a shit alternative.

Prove me wrong. Why would anyone deliberately use this garbage?

the problem is normies. I studied GIMP's engine GEGL since 2021 and made plugins for it since May 2022 and to this date hardly anyone is making GEGL plugins for GIMP.

normies act like GIMP team promises them stuff as if they are entitled. but they never want to do the work themselves or contribute by reporting bugs. I can make gold text in GIMP instantly because I put thousands of hours studying theories on how to do it.

GIMP has the ability to write GEGL syntax in GEGL Graph and then turn it into a custom GEGL plugin by writing .c code. The syntax turns into a plugin with sliders and its NONDESTRUCTIVE in GIMP 3.0.4 and 3.0.6

Nodes in GIMP's GEGL are just as complex as nodes in Blender. There is no difference in the complex potential that they hold. The only difference is that GEGL only shows its nodes in text only mode where as in Blender nodes are in a friendly GUI.

(unless you count Activey's new project for a GEGL only UI)

Very few people understand the real issue with USB, the meme is that its not reversible. But that is not why usb is bad. The problem with usb is that the sides are perfectly vertical and square, there is no taper whatsoever, so unless you can see the port its almost impossible to align. There is no tactile feedback to guide you in, the plug is just sliding against the shield, and you have no idea which direction to move it to bring it into alignment.

Arc isn't made in their own foundations but I believe Celestial (C580/C770) will be made on Intel 18Å. I doubt they will make their own ram it's almost certainly outsourced. Hopefully they continue to use GDDR6 or 6X which isn't in demand for AI. Your best bet is to buy a used RTX3080/3080Ti and try to outlast the shortage. I got a 5800X & 3080Ti for dirt cheap recently.

Good. GPUs were already powerful enough a decade ago. Maybe now devs will get better at optimizing their games.

The old fan is making a slight rattling noise on startup but it goes away after 5 min. It's spinning at 3000rpm to cool down Athlon x250 which gets hot very quickly during cpu spikes (it shuts itself down at 70C). I'd like to replace it but I can't find any 70mm fans. Is there any CPU fan model (with a heatsink or not) that would fit this old motherboard (released in 2009), if yes then which size should I choose?

if you're dead set on keeping it, see about buying a athlon x4 640 or a phenom 965, it will help with it being slow. beware an x6 1055/1090, not all prebuilts got bios updates to support them. and no, you can swap cpus without any trouble. you can use macrium reflect free edition to clone your drive in case it fails, it probably has a tonne of hours on it too

> Capitalism is about permanent exponential growth
Exponential growth is not a property of Capitalism, but rather something else that is often mistakenly conflated with it. Financialism, the Jewish debt based monetary systems we are forced to use are what drives the need for infinite growth.

So, capitalism?
Also, you know the alternative to the "Jewish debt based monetary system" is even worse, right?
Without inflationary pressure old-money rich people would simply sit on their accumulated capital (with constantly increasing value - due to the resource scarcity) and do nothing.
We need more incentives for them to spend their money, not less.
Of course the best solution would be to simply nationalize their wealth and redistribute it.
The "economy" already is a one giant circlejerk of rich people giving each other money they got from the government - showing things went to far, regular people have been bled dry - companies are no longer competing for their money, because they don't have any of it left in their pockets.
We're already back to feudalism, except it has been twisted end evolved - keeping and maintaining peasants has been outsourced to the king (government), landlords (the rich) no longer have to bother themselves with it, except they have to sometimes impress king (government, president) with shiny trinkets ("innovation") to enjoy fruits of peasants labor (subsidies).

Do copyright laws need to adapt to digital media?

The ideal use of copyright is so someone who publishes something can profit from it as long as they hold the copyright and once they're no longer around or surrender their authority over it then anyone can use it without seeking permission or license.

But when it comes to software there is real value in being able to maintain software for use later with the evolution of technology, so someone or a company holding copyright over data can actually bring value long after the original publication since their ability to maintain it may rely on their ability to own it and profit from it.

Obviously this applies more than anything to video games since the code that the game runs on and the assets it rely on can be separated (people can reverse engineer the code and create a clean-room replication that behaves the same as the original game but that will never entitle them to also distribute their reengineered code with the necessary assets needed to recreate the entire game) but it can be applied across the entire spectrum of software in some fashion, due to things like being able to port stuff to different or newer platforms.

Not really for most computers. Apple being the one exception, where you could set up a RAM drive from your system RAM and boot from it without any third party products or software.
>>
>>107703525
MacOS has RAM disk support built in and yeah, booting from RAM was as easy as copying your System folder to the RAM disk and doing a soft restart / boot.
AmigaOS has RAM disk by default, booting from that too was as easy as just copying Workbench to it and doing a soft restart / boot.
Atari ST's TOS had default RAM disk too, don't know about booting since TOS itself was already fully in ROM.

Many 8 and 16 bit micros, like your mentioned IIgs had RAM disk software, mostly for copying files from one disk to another with just one drive.
Even original PC and clones did, mostly too for that reason. It was specially common when hard drives weren't something that came with your PC as standard.
>>
>>107701462
How did you set it up, anon? I'm guessing it must be a Linux system?
