How does Google track my Youtube watch history across devices that aren't signed in, have never been on the same network, or have never been within a mile of each other? At home, I have my "bed phone", an old no-sim android with 99% of features disabled used almost exclusively to fall asleep listening to YT videos using Brave. The device never leaves home and has never signed into YT. My daily driver phone is on graphene with everything disabled, including mobile data, used exclusively for phone calls. paid VPN turned on 24/7 just in case.Often I'll visit a friend and watch Youtube on TV through their Roku box using the guest account. The types of videos I watch at their house are completely different topics than what I watch at home. I have never connected my phone to their network. When I go home, the videos I watched on my friend's Roku guest account will immediately start showing up on my no-sim, home-only, signed-out phone. What the fuck?I also have a general use hardwired linux box at home, 24/7 vpn+different privacy browser, only rarely watch maybe 1-2 YT vids a week about a specialty topic. Those videos will also start showing up in the algorithm on my no-sim home phone.
>>107646329Wait, so you're>using different devices>on different networks>with different watch habits>without accountsAnd still being tracked?Something here doesn't... track. Surely you're missing someting. Maybe watching similar videos on the two phones? Idk, but something's missing
>>107646329>androidAndroid is loaded to the hilt with tracking features such as geographic tracking. Google has probably correlated you with all your phones.

Want to use modern C++ features like Modules? Nuh uh can't include "non-importable headers" from common librariesWhat's "non-importable"? IT'S IMPLEMENTATION DEPENDENT. No one knows.C++ keeps stapling shiny new abstractions onto a language whose foundation is still “whatever your compiler feels like today.” Every new feature “works unless it doesn’t.”It’s not a language design so much as cardboard layer cake. Why don't you use something else? MPI. The alternative would be Fortran.
>>107645988>Why not just invent a new language at this point, or drop C++ entirely?Feel free to start the project, I'll make the logo.

>>107645899>"My fellow programmers! We must stop using the C family."
>>107639946>C is the lingua franca of computing, everything else is forced to use some grotesque FFI.The "FFI" is to communicate with C because its data types are too primitive compared to higher level languages, for example it doesn't have arrays or strings, just pointers. You can't pass an array or a string to a function (by value or reference) in C. You can only pass a pointer to one element of the array. Most languages have similar enough data types that they can communicate directly, which is the idea behind VMS and .net CLR. The JVM and Lisp machines also do this but they are designed around specific languages and support other languages too. These systems define data types and formats that can be used by every language directly, so you can just use a Python array in Lisp or a COBOL array in FORTRAN, without any kind of FFI.

>>107646805I've been considering getting one as my next GPU since I'm using Linux now and the PC building thread recommends it. It's much cheaper than an NVIDIA card too. I forgot to mention in my other post I was looking at the GPU benchmarks specifically in the OP post where the AMD GPUs rank really low there, I guess they weren't fair to AMD with setting it up correctly.
>>107646805>>107646905>but why do you fags want to convince people they have no choice/optionsif you want the headache of dealing with an amd card then go ahead but if you wanted a card specifically for AI it doesn't make sense to choose the inferior option
>>107646905>GPU benchmarks specifically in the OP post where the AMD GPUs rank really low thereI wouldn't put much stock in these because they're testing on Windows 11, which is a retarded decision for AI benchmarks. AMD's Windows support for AI is very new right now, and buggy compared to their Linux support. However, if you look at each individual benchmark on that page, the XTX ranks decently on everything but their Hires.Fix benchmarks, especially the 4K one. I have no idea what their bench setup is, but it looks like they ran into a bug in their AMD implementation that they didn't bother to fix. The Hires.Fix 4K benchmark isn't representative of real use.I also don't know what's going on with the 9070 XT perf. That card has fewer CUs than the XTX, but also has newer arch that should perform better per CU. I suspect the support for that card is less mature than for the XTX. But ultimately, 16GB is NOT enough for AI no matter if it's AMD or Nvidia. I recommend you do whatever it takes to get 24GB VRAM as a minimum, and fast, before GPU prices triple like RAM prices did.>>107646937>if you want the headache of dealing with an amd cardit works on my machine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯>if you wanted a card specifically for AI it doesn't make sense to choose the inferior optionthat's the thing. I want to use this GPU for multiple things: desktop linux, open source drivers, linux gaming, and AI. Nvidia is worse than AMD at all of those except for AI.
>>107646805>AMD is actively fixing and optimizing it.That's great but I'm always skeptical on ever switching back to AMD for gpu's. Their drivers/software have sucked my entire life and are always a mile behind nvidia in every respect but these prices are starting to make me consider amd again after this shit ass ram shortage is over.
>>107646805AMD's also released Windows preview drivers/packages for ROCm and PyTorch in recent months for newer hardware, so running on Windows is getting easier as well. (Just don't let Adrenalin "update" the special 25.20.x driver to a 25.12.x driver...)For dedicated GPUs:https://rocm.docs.amd.com/projects/radeon-ryzen/en/docs-7.1.1/docs/advanced/advancedrad/windows/comfyui/installcomfyui.htmlFor APUs:https://rocm.docs.amd.com/projects/radeon-ryzen/en/docs-7.1.1/docs/advanced/advancedryz/windows/comfyui/installcomfyui.html(The first link inside this link is broken, but the second one works.)The two sets of instructions look basically the same, other than a venv creation step being spelled out in the latter.
