Apple’s rules force compliance, and the business incentives (visibility, trust, updates) make manual distribution a non‑starter. The apps that do require manual installs are usually indie, niche, or legacy software, not mainstream names.

I've only ever used Windows. At my wits end with Microsoft.Tell me why I shouldn't just move to Linux. Yes, shouldn't - what are the legitimate drawbacks for someone with no experience with Linux.
>>107662639There are only two reasons:1 - you rely on software such as the adobe environment to work2 - you really, really like games that have kernel level anti-chat (aka spyware) and are absolutely unwilling to stop playing them

Would you buy AMD? I'd buy AMD.

Is windows 10 better than windows 11? Can I do all the same things?
>>107662349I would call Windows 10 better in a lot of ways and Windows 11 better in very few ways. The 1 major way Windows 11 is better has nothing to do with an improvement it made but is simply the fact that 10 is ending support now, meaning new viruses and shit won't get security updates anymore, you're more vulnerable if you're downloading risky shit or interacting with people online. Outside of that I would prefer 10 every time, not that 10 is great but 11 took away a lot of options and added lots of annoyances.

What are good free games to benchmark and livetest your builds? Not just demos like 3dmark something playable. Hopefully lightweight (not disk space hogs) and has RTX and DLSS options.

I broke down and decided to buy a basic Midjourney subscription after years of staying local. The very first attempt generating images using the Moodboard is promising, but holy shit this is the absolutely worst interface I've ever used on a commercial website like this.
