Everything is already from China, but here we discuss the cheap chink shit you see on various sites.

Got this m2 sata/nvmeUSB dock and a metric ton of pens and mechanical pencils
Dock seems well made. Says it can do 10gbps but I have nothing to test it. Reads/writes all my salvage rando drives just fine
>>
>>107639788
oh i covered up the logo on the dock, it's branded as "Blueendless". it's heavy so i was tempted to take it apart, but it's all glued together and i don't want to destroy it.

Is there a good mechanical keyboard with home, end, pgup, pgdown and delete on the right side? And a volume knob too.
Why do some have like 3 out of those four. It's so random.

Yes, you can just do a default install with the pre-selections in tasksel which will give you a nicely complete GNOME system, and first boot will walk you through the GNOME tutorial. It's THE UNIVERSAL OPERATING SYSTEM.

>>107638177
no, i keep saying this, but debian is not as retard-proof as fedora, it doesn't try to be your babysitter but it also doesn't shy away from giving you all the power, acquire at least a year of experience in linux before venturing into debian.

also, if you are aligned with the distribution's proposal, you will have the best linux experience; otherwise, stay away, because you will have the worst possible experience.
>>
https://wiki.debian.org/DontBreakDebian
If you can read this and understand what it means then you're good. In particular if you can understand what a Frankendebian is, and know how to avoid creating one then you're ready.
>>107638245
Pretty sure modern Debian's installer will automatically give you sudo if you don't create a root account just like other distros do.
>>
>>107638177
Honestly? Probably not.
There's a thing in tech where we say something is easy because we think it makes us look smarter.
>>
>>107638177
By beginner, do you mean someone already tech savvy but new to Linux, or generally tech illiterate?

They were burned by malicious themes in the past and decided the best policy was to just say right from the start that you're on your own as soon you enter that menu. KDE doesn't maintain the themes on the store. The store is just a portal to download things from random people online. Similar logic to needing to opt into Flathub and Terra.

make your website into a windows app with a proprietary protocol to communicate with the server, and then only distribute it as an .exe
any other webshit-based solution can easily be bypassed with minimal effort

I feel like whenever you want to filter out the low-effort rabble you don't need to focus on crazy technical solutions to plug every loophole. If these people are adverse to effort anyway, even hurdles that can be bypassed will filter out large numbers of them.

It just doesn't make any sense to me to put hardware instruction set architectures and software programming languages in the same category.
Instruction Sets deals with primitive computing operations.
Programming language deals with *combining* computing operations.

Note that "combining" is a general term/not overloaded term, it applies equally well to imperative and functional languages and any other paradigm.

wtf is wrong with youtube these days? I am watching this video in 1080p, the highest resolution, and it looks more pixelated than I've ever seen on a video. And it's not a temporary buffer issue. I've reloaded and rewatched from the start, and it continues to look like this. I also frequently have 20s freezes for buffering on a video when I have 500Mbps down speeds. Is youtube just cheaping out on bandwidth to save money or what
