>he isn’t using PyTorch if it’s equally performant
Pytorch is pretty dang performant. Meta does have engineers that know how to implement low level code supporting high level languages quite well, Facebook would've kneeled over and died on its PHP codebase super early if that wasn't the case. And outside of most hyperscalers, most people still use Pytorch. What Meta doesn't have is scaling where they lack engineers with HPC experience. There were rumors about their training code being so shit on Pytorch that 10k GPUs running training was the same speed as their full 50k cluster. But that isn't relevant for a simple application doing image diffusion.
>>
>>106524019
Neither am I the thing is it's not as performant. It's actually much worse.

Everything is already from China, but here we discuss the cheap chink shit you see on various sites.

they are, but if you buy coated strings they will last longer for sure

honestly alice strings are on par with most mainstream western string brands, i wouldnt diss them, they're more durable than ernie ball trash or rotosounds

word of mouth as other anons have already done.
every type of product has a meta surrounding the chinese tier wares. you have to get informed on what people have actually used and found acceptable.
in this time of internet enshittification it's become increasingly more difficult to find actual human beings to exchange information. especially to avoid the affiliate marketing assholes. basically every influencer youtuber whatever are unscrupulous shills.

I bought this for my Garmin (Forerunner 235) and it works well. However, unlike the factory silicone/rubber Garmin strap, this one will gradually pick up body odour if you use it for sports.

so just like that i guess i'm gonna end up blocked from the trial program because of their system fuck up???

As of my estimate, the GNU/Linux copypasta was created on /g/ somewhere between late Nov 2008 and late March 2009. The lower bound is Ten Billion thread archive being empty, the upper bound is first outside appearance of the copypasta: https://web.archive.org/web/20091031140239/https://xercestech.com/linux-not-gnulinux.geek

Anon, if you somehow have a thread dump of /g/ board made in early 2009, please grep it for any “interject for a moment” appearances.

My 60 year old dad asked, just out of his curiosity, what's the difference between 60 dollar chink tablet and a 1000 dollar Ipad. The conversation went something like this:
>Well you see dad, one has weak processor and other is powerful, meaning one is slow in operation, and other is quicker.
>But in the end they both can do the same things right? Both can launch the internet browser, play Youtube, and run Telegram?
>.... well yeah, I guess.
This kinda caught me. I mean unless we're talking about specific things, that average boomer coonsumer probably doesn't care about, like system security and updates, screen tech and resolution, audio speakers, battery, case material, and even eco-systems like Android (and many of it's firmware OSes) and I(pad)OS, they're both the same device for them, just one a bit slower and one a bit quicker.
How would (You) answer?

Let him browse the web for a bit on a cheap tablet (even a $200 one) and he'll understand immediately.
People notice immediately when every change on screen takes seconds compared to another device where things happen instantly.
Also, sound and screen quality are objective differences between any two tablets.
Granted, many people hate themselves to such an extent that they pretend everything is the same no matter the device. You won't be able to reason with such people because they have already convinced themselves that everything sucks and it sucks equally.

I've been stuck on this for about 4 hours. I really need the computer working soon so I can give a presentation.
Would it actually be bad to rip the battery out and retry?

Junior roles down 23%.
Senior roles up 14%.

Harvard tracked 285,000 firms. The math is brutal:

Before AI: 1 senior + 3 juniors = 4 person team
After AI: 1 senior + Claude = same output

We're creating a generation of experts with no apprentices. Masters with no students. Mentors with no one to mentor.

Who trains the next generation when AI does all the junior work?

But here's what made my stomach drop:

It's not layoffs.

I'm in healthcare and they can't hire fast enough. They want to replace us with immigrants but that's not possible unless the immigrants are able to prove their nation's educational standards match our, their residency training matches our, and pass our board exams.
Most 3rd worlder's have to go through dental school all over again and then do residency too.

The bottleneck is residency positions that's why they can't replace anyone. The medical board keeps residency positions low to prevent people from becoming licensed doctors to keep pay high.
>>
>>106523380
They both take 8 years total. And those grades are really bad. Even if you do well with the premed courses, they count all other previous courses too.
>>106523488
What??? How many doctors give up their time making money with patients to go train a resident for much lower pay? It's a service of stewardship, not some kind of conspiracy. And when you finally get your license you're grinding for at least a decade to pay off the loans and buy a house.

I'll start
