I don't mind AI in browsers as long as the processing happens locally on the device.

If a job says "Remote (Germany)" do you think it's worth applying if I'm from France or it's a waste of time? Why do they bother writing the job description in english though
This is the root cause of why so many people hate AI. They are just salty that we don't need them anymore.
>>106973708>we have built whole machines that can help us do these things and they have already become so entrenched in our way of life they may as well be part of usBut they aren't. Unless it's a pacemaker, it's a collective, and disastrous imo, choice for everyone to replace irl socializing with the virtual echo chambers.>we are the force of nature itself naturally selecting for the best and most efficient path forwardI agree we're a force of nature. However I think the "efficient" way forward is just service to global capital; to homogenize the world out of all meaning, because meaning after all is immaterial nonsense to some people.>things beyond our control will forever come crashing down upon our heads and once more we will dig out from our burrows to reclaim the scorched earth and rebuild, smarter, stronger and more powerful than we can possibly imagine right now.On an individual level yes, it's good to accept what's out of one's control. However the e-waste, internet and AI being maintained is a conscious decision by world leaders. This consolidation could be reversed so the world doesn't get scorched.>don't you want to leave something to mark you were here?Maybe a grave. Nothing is forever. It's a stretch, not sure if you think this way, but I don't think a museum is good to maintain.Crafts, ways of life etc that are sustainable, are an expression of culture should be passed down as a living art with /some/ trad institutions and museums for reference for some form of keep the past preserved in artefacts as well.Replacing human crafts is the museumification of culture. >>106974442I'm still amazed the trivial shit europoorans find to seethe over.
The failure of LEDs is in not mandating minimum CRI levels and not having some flicker free rating consortium who's logo shitty drop in replacements using half-bridge rectifiers cannot use.I redid all the lighting in my house with 95+ CRI stuff that uses PWM to adjust the brightness and it's fucking amazing. I can brilliantly light rooms in my house without generating enough heat to melt shit on my kitchen counter. The drop in replacements, even the decent ones, all fucking suck. You need dedicated LED assemblies powered by a driver that isn't near the diode, that driver needs a large enough capacitor to prevent voltage sag 120 times a second when there's no incoming power because of AC.>>106970336>>106969766The drop in replacements all have tiny circuitry embedded into the base so that they mimic the aesthetics of a conventional bulb. That circuitry is not tolerant to high heat. If you have those bulbs in an enclosure, or even worse, in an enclosure pointing down, they're going to cook their own circuitry. Stuff like the cheap canless lights last decades. The first ones I installed over a decade ago have been moved to my basement and they're all still going strong despite having something like 7 years of power on time over the past 12 years. Meanwhile every single drop in bulb that went into my hallway lights upstairs died within 2 years because they were partially recessed enclosures with insulation from the attic sitting directly above them.>>106970561This exists for commercial lighting, but yeah, you have to do a lot of custom fuckery yourself if you want to do that at home. We were very close to biting the bullet and setting up a bunch of meanwell drivers behind a panel on each floor and buying some very expensive CoB assemblies, but we finally found some decent canless drop ins that had adjustable temperatures and CRIs above 95 (IIRC they're 98 at 3000K). It wasn't cheap, but we shouldn't have to touch them for 25 years, and it was worth every penny.
>>106970936High end LED flashlights are better because they have good enough gamut coverage and no weird focal artefacts. Oldschool Maglite is probably the best flashlight you can get at Walmart.

>>106974341It's interesting to me that most logos you see have the logo competely separate from the company name / logotype. Here is the bug;https://issues.chromium.org/issues/40451869If you use the webaudio api to decode audio for playback will cause memory to leak in all chromium browsers. Even if you reset the tab, go to another page, manually clear out all your audio sources, buffers and etc (the latter slows the leak but doesn't stop it). The only way to clear the memory is to completely close the tab;.If you are making a media player or a game you are fucked. one minute of 44.1kh audio is 80mb a minute. 10mins of audio is 800mbs of ram.Firefox does not have this problem but I want my game to be played by as many people as possible and some people still use chrome because they don't know any better. How can I deal with this issue since the incompetent retards and google refuse to fix it?Thank you for reading my blog.
