No, it's not. You are mistaking simplicity by lack of features and even in that case it's not simple because there are implicit rules and UBs for almost everything. I would not define C as simple but as rudimentary (Go lang fits this category too).

The price. 90% of listeners would fail the A/B test if you were to compare them. Same applies to HD650 btw. I used to sell these for work for a number of years and I burned out when day after day autistic people (like literally people with aspergers) would come in, test them and present their opinions like they are some high ranking journalist with immense authority. Then they listen to some garbage with low DR like soundtracks from videogames. Before I got fired from that work, I took the HD600 and HD650 apart and switched the drivers and felt a little joy inside when the autists would, sure as shit, rattle on about how they can hear and FEEL the difference, with the HD650 having way more bass. Well, it didn't, they were listening to the HD600, but they didn't know it. They just read online reviews without a single critical thought. No matter what I said, amazon reviews were more correct.

It happened with speakers too, even though Yamaha HS5 sucks ass and is used as a reference in studios for bad audio (much like the old NS10 is) people don't understand WHY they are in the studio and they just assume it's because they are good speakers. Sure as shit they had an expert opinion and review lined up after listening to final fantasy music or whatever the fuck stupid shit they listen to. Even though in all cases the LSR305, Kali LP-6 and I dunno Presonus Eris 5 blew the HS out of the water every single time no matter the genre, I always got the same "well I think it has higher definition" even though it's lacking all forms of bass, it's treble. Then we had the soundcloud rappers who all wanted the KRK Rokit 5 even though that was even worse than the HS5. It was a muddy as fuck speaker but all the niggers and wiggers absolutely MUST have it because they saw it in their favorite soundcloud rapper's studio. Lil yeet yachty gang gang 420 has it must be good!!!

No wonder I burned out.

Welcome to the 4chan /g/ Usenet General Thread!

>What is /usenet/?
Open standard protocols still exist and are what the internet was built on (http, irc, rss, ftp, etc). Not owned by corpos, not under govt control, and are accessible to anyone with an internet connection. They simply exist to be built upon and enjoyed by all.
Some, like FTP are outdated and insecure. Others, like rss, irc, http, usenet are still glorious and wonderful open standards. Join us and discuss such topics on one such protocol:
NNTP, aka usenet.

>WTF IS USENET
Literally it means the Users Network. It’s an open protocol for posting and reading messages, organized by newsgroups. It's entirely decentralized, no single server, impossible to take down.
Today it is split between, binaries and text. The binaries part is what it’s known for today: piracy. The text part is forgotten and abandoned, until now.

>WHY POST ON USENET
It's open protocol, you can use any client you want or build you own. No costs, no subscriptions, no money. You can sign up through your ISP, or through eternal-september.org. Then you just need to install a client.

>THIS IS OLDER THAN MY DAD. WHY TF WOULD I DO THIS?

4chan is ephemeral, threads wash out, at times because of people wanting to wash out a thread, but at least 4chan has images. Posters are normally anonymous.
Usenet News has much longer activity times, not limited to 10 pages, it is text only and no files or images. Posters are traditionally pseudonymous.
All in all I'd say these complement each other and cannot be competitors.

=== /stagnationpunk/ News:
We don't do manhy of those but mainstream press is now taking a glance:
>Politics not tech makes the world go round
https://archive.is/qI8LF
>A person born on the day that Apple released the first iPhone can now vote. After 18 years, we might expect the newest version — which came out last month — to be unrecognisable from the original. Whatever the cumulative improvements, it isn’t. But then a car made that year wouldn’t seem out of place on today’s roads either. Also, look at images of Nicolas Sarkozy’s election as president of France and then images of his ride to prison this week. Aside from the greying of the man himself, can you tell the two eras apart? Not as quickly, I wager, as you could distinguish 1989 from 2007, which is the equivalent jump in time.
> In the 18 years before the iPhone, technological change was dizzying: little or no internet to ubiquitous connectivity, boxy and dirty cars to clean if monotonously bulbous ones. Whereas the difference between George HW Bush and George W Bush was less marked. People who came of age in that era — that is, almost everyone of influence today — will tend to emphasise technology over politics as the motor of history. Hence the widespread conviction that social media begot populism. (But somehow not in Australia or Denmark. Funny, that.)

Yet that author fails to focus on the stagnation itself and the regression seen in some fields.

>Won't use realloc. Even a 10-line DIY implementation is more efficient.
Except it's not because under the tight, non-deterministic circumstances in which reallocation in-place is even viable doesn't make up for the fact that your piece of shit 10-line implementation is going to make no use of constexpr meaning terrible inlining and absolutely no SBO or constant folding. Nice handrolled turd you fucking moron.
>>
>>106975345
most of that is because microsoft's toolchain is absolutely fucking terrible and designed to be exclusively used through Visual Studio proper.
>>
>>106975389
I do not have problem with syntax per se, I don't care about such superficial things.
What I have problem with are all these hand-wavy /* whatever */ blanks in documentation that require reading text to figure out what are they trying to accomplish.
Rust has everything specified formally. I can see the concrete types, arguments, generic bounds, etc. Even if a function doesn't specify a concrete return type, it will be declared as
fn name() -> impl Trait + Trait + Trait
which still precisely defines which (exclusively) kind of operations will be supported by the returned, instead of just being "whatever, figure it out yourself and pray the compiler will reject your code if you assume something wrong". Which is exactly what happened in OP code. I honestly doubt you can figure out what went wrong solely by looking at function definitions, without reading all the small print on each page.
>>
>>106975477
Really felt that way. I'm so used to VSC I didn't want to change to VS. Eventually got it working. Had the compiler installed through VS build tools, and not VS, so for some fucking reason it couldn't find the compiler until I uninstalled VS...(or reinstalled it with C++ but my drive is low on memory and I need to move some shit around)
Finally can get to learning.
>>
>>106975726
>What I have problem with are all these hand-wavy /* whatever */ blanks in documentation that require reading text to figure out what are they trying
this is a 100% legit grievance to have about c. and things are even worse than what you describe.
this code
return (a + b + c + d)

is not equivalent to this code
return ((a + b) + (c + d))

even if from the standpoint of the standard, it should be
and nowhere in the standard this will be explained.

thing is
to be good at c you have to consider your compiler as part of the standard, and how it treats subtle-er hints like the above
thats the thing. its perfectly deterministic. but theres people who want c to be portable, and they ignore the fact that compilers also have features.

vice is a joke website with joke people that love to suck on corporate cocks. the biggest problem, that vice is unaware of or too fucking retarded to research, is that cable/paytv subscriptions have fallen off a cliff all over the world and advertising money has disappeared. i'm sure many people still watched those channels but the profits are no longer there to sustain these multi channel broadcasts. cable/paytv industry's death was entirely self inflicted and they deserve to be gassed. thankfully the lack of profits is doing the gassing for me.

it must make such shitty networks rage how some teen with a 4k camera from ebay and adobe premier or whatever can produce higher quality content than a studio full of over paid faggots and millions of dollars worth of gear - and get more eyeballs on one video than one of their network shows would make over a season. they, and many other networks, sat back and did nothing while the internet evolved around them. it's like they hoped the internet was just a fad and it would go away. newspaper and magazine industry acted in same way.

It was already dead way before the hack, the hack taking the site offline for a few days just showed a lot of people that there in fact are other sites out there and they (unsurprisingly) never came back. So now instead of a ~60/40 bot/human ratio we're now left with a near enough 100% bot ratio which is why it now feels even worse than before but really it was just masked better.
