People seriously thought that the AI bubble would just pop next week and prices would fall 50% overnight? Lol no.
The datacenters aren't even built yet, but they're commissioning them more and more and they will all have to be filled with hardware.
No they won't suddenly cancel them either. AI is here to stay bubble or no bubble and the production of semiconductors simply has to ramp up to match the demand.
This is why you need to build the strongest system right the fuck now or you'll get seriously screwed by the market.
There's no waiting this out unless your time frame is closer to 10 years.

This is why "cultist" is an apt label for AI bros. It's not enough for them to play with their toys; everyone else must too. Every nook and cranny must be saturated with it. Any opposition is deemed regressive heathens by them, which is ironic since endless combinations of existing data is regression itself. It only serves as a roadblock in true artistic and scientific progress.

Look who has just betrayed AI companies in America. So much for AI "winning the race" against China.

ipad or ipad mini for the aspect ratio and weight. half the android tablets are too heavy and hard to hold. the software situation is better on ios although its more locked down and harder to transfer files. surface line is not bad, but not worth the money unless you can get one really, really cheap. android tablets all have issues unless you are only going to read manga or play pirated games on an emulator.

how often do you author a new commit?

i commit feature to feature, if the intermediate status doesn't work then i don't commit
>>
>>107868661
On personal projects it's pretty much just whatever I feel like doing. I mostly just push to master unless I have something I specifically want to see the diffs of in github's PR viewer. For commits specifically i try to remember to keep commits focused but I very often get side tracked while working on features so my changes end up encompassing multiple files and it's hard to entangle that into multiple commits, so I just do one big commit
Professionally it's definitely way more disciplined, but that's because in a professional capacity you're often working on feature branches that are there for specific issues. Although this probably depends on where you work and how much git discipline is enforced
>>
>>107868661
ideally one ticket = one commit. so either a full feature or a bug fix. I don't commit unfinished work.
that is for my PR. before I make a PR I use temp commits sometimes.

You mean +two years on top of whatever waiting people have already done.
If you're coming from 2000 or 3000 series and then have to wait two or even three years longer to update to 6000 series, that's a fucking decade of waiting in a worst case scenario.

Is there a generally accepted best way of organizing your config? I used the config generator to get started, and I've just been copying and pasting shit I find online all over the place. It works, but I'd like to neaten it up before proceeding any further. I found out recently that you can put your config in a org file and then export just the bits of code to your .emacs file. I plan on doing that, but I don't know how exactly I should organize everything. What comes first? What should I group together? Shit like that. How do you guys organize your config file?
>>
>>107869242
I just put shit wherever as I need it, but every couple weeks I organize it by grouping things together with outline mode or removing shit I dont need somewhere else/deleting it.

Then if a section get's too big or I need to look at it frequently, I put it into it's own file in /lisp folder and load it from init.el. I've done that mainly for my org config, since there are many packages for it that I use and it was taking up too much space.

Having a literate config is good too, but unless you will actually write paragraphs or descriptions on your decisions/usage then outline-mode is enough imo.

If all you want is to organize your config into sections, making an org literate config is overkill. Just make headline comments and navigate the file using imenu or outline-mode
