Which audio codec (and if lossy which bitrate) do you do your general music listening in? I still resort to FLAC (44k/16bit), not because I can hear any difference between lossless and lossy, but just because torrents are mostly FLAC anyway and I don’t see the point in converting as they don’t take up much storage space.

>>106966186Just happened to me and I'm not even mad. Youtube has been getting worse and worse for me for the past few months. I get pauses before videos, sometimes I get a grey error screen 30 seconds in and have to reload a page. I have a ton of scripts and addons but it's unusable without them and I can't be bothered to troubleshoot.
>>106966186i kinda like it. the old one was kinda trash to be honest.

>>106966586As usual, I will use Stylish to change it until I am somewhat happy and then Youtube will fuck it up again.

>>106966829Be aware if you need to get work done on your house you will have to also filter out the indian scammers.
>>106965853our policy makers (dumbass fat cat ladies) figured out its actually way better for humanity if you let drug addicts run rampant like pitbulls. having junkies inject into open wounds in public is a far better look than increasing the incarceration stats. plus, we have to focus on "rehabilitation" which means letting them go for every crime they commit.nobody wants to become cops anymore and virtually every part of the justice system is lacking in headcount, so we cant just start putting violent thieving junkies in jail.instead, what we need to do is increase taxes so we can put them in apartments theyre free to destroy. that will get them to stop using drugs. its called housing first and theyre allowed to set fire to the units and cant be kicked out of the program for any reason. the hope is that they just decide to stop being a junkie eventually with an expensive, on call medical team and giving them evrything for free. a lot of cities in the US have a version of housing first.theres just tens of thousands of violent tweakers roaming the streets ready to snap and kill random working people. that woman that got hate crimed by a homeless junkie happens al lthe time, but national news doesnt cover it. in the city i live in a tweaker killed a married couple in front of their kids for no reason. he had never met them before. the future is just so bright and progressive. its great.
Which is better?
>>106964735If your program isn't 100% portable in the current year then I have no idea what you are doing. If you shit up the documents, programdata, appdata, registry, and so forth you should be blasted with a fire hose. The only exceptions are programs that deliberately need to hook into core system functions to work if there is no alternatives.

>>106965904>>106965904RAIDZ is how ZFS handles raid 5. It's a bit different because it doesn't have predefined parity blocks, and instead creates parity for each block individually so that you can't ever overwrite parity data for file a while writing file b, or vice versa. This prevents a few different types of corruption. There are some drawbacks to raidz, but it's very safe. I realize that that's all probably over your head, but suffice to say that ZFS is insanely paranoid. It goes through ridiculous hoops to avoid tons of edge cases and absurd what if scenarios. To give you an idea of the level of paranoia that ZFS has, imagine you have a checksum for a file to validate it. If the checksum fails, either the checksum or the file got corrupted. Most systems don't even have checksumming, and if they do it's only for metadata, and not your actual data. Of the ones that do have checksumming, most will store the checksum with the data. But what if your disk farts and writes out the file with the checksum to the wrong location on disc? If you go to read the file B that got inadvertently overwritten with file A, it'll still pass. ZFS (and btrfs and bcache) avoid this by storing the checksums with the metadata that points to the file. This repeats all the way up the metadata tree. Everything is validated by something that is stored somewhere else on disc, so if anything got overwritten along the way, it will be detected. It sounds insane, but that's the level of paranoia we're operating at here.>UGOSNever used it. I generally recommend against all in one turnkey solutions because there's nothing stopping a company from trying to fuck you over in a few years the way synology did. Most prebuilt NAS boxes have really shitty hardware at insane markups, and their stuff doesn't look any different in that regard. Any old shitbox x86 computer with a bunch of drives in it can run truenas just fine.
>>106966753they abuse reverse proxies because they are too retarded to understand proper routing or DNS. it's a crutch. virtualization things or containerizing things on virtual infrastructure makes for easy patching, quick buildup and teardown, and monolithic updates, reduces control surface, and generally allows flexibility. the real megabrain shit is taking the HCI pill. redditors are deathly terrified of virtualizing their networking because as i said, they are retarded.
>>106966868Fair enough, but your solution also seems needlessly complex for something like a single, personal use plex instance.
the new youtube player is disgusting. i hate that they employ a bunch of designers that constantly have to prove their need

This is the root cause of why so many people hate AI. They are just salty that we don't need them anymore.
>>106966519I'm salty because too many people get sucked into it and rob themselves of achieving skill, of the journey and working with others trying to do the same as a community. There's nothing to hone in this.
>>106960484Not everything, but a lot. He was definitely right about tech attracting a lot of week people. Look how the slop lovers get triggered and act like the Tumbler Troons they think they're better then.>>106965385I'm glad am not the only one that notices this. Republicans like that remind me of what people were saying about 10 years ago about onions creatures getting their grieving studies degrees. "Don't forget that nonsense once they get a real job." The joke was on them since they created jobs for themselves. Also, as a far right chud, I have to ask the pro AI people on /g/ why it's a good idea to let a bunch of technocrats, who hate people, to be in control of culture. These are the same people who allowed the trainee madness to fester and spread by censoring anyone who criticized it.
>>106966725I think it's because they hate people also. Scroll up and you'll see examples of very anti human sentiment, like calling people they don't like NPCs, not giving a shit about society needing to be changed/restored to pre internet conditions instead of using technology to fill the void etc.The left and the right both need to separate themselves from the economic liberals who want consumerism, multiculturalism, AI slop etc. ; all those things are against human flourishing and culture the best factions within the left and the right try to defend.
>>106952720Ai could imitate a suicide easily
>>106964583I don't use AI to make my art. But I'm trying to be evenkeeled and realistic about the situation rather than reactive.

It would have been better without the season long story arcs. Every season ends with "we made it!....oh wait we didn't".
I think that the show could make a comeback, either as live action or animated.
It has the Atlanta Effect. The show is fun an interesting when is about a bunch of underdogs fighting for success living as normal beings in a common but beautifil soulful home. Once the characters reach success, it becomes boring.
